14 weeks pregnant with DC2 and Harmony test result says another boy!

I like:

Henry
Leo
Rowan
Edward (or Edgar/Edwin)
William
Fergus

But not completely sold on any of them. Suggestions please for boys names that have a similar feel and will go with James?

I have a James. If DC2 had been a boy she'd have been Frederick. I also love Richard but couldn't use it.

A lovely list and I adore the name James- the most classic name there is!

Henry - great name, would sound lovely with James
Leo - nice, don't love but like it. Quite trendy, not as timeless as James
Rowan - far too trendy and will date in a way James won't. Prefer for a girl but even then just find it too similar to equally trendy and fastest rising boy name RoMan with m. Don't like nickname Row.
Edward (or Edgar/Edwin) - love all three
William - love
Fergus - love

Suggestions:

Peter
Christopher
Wilfred
Nathan or Nathaniel
Matthew
Tristan
Eric
Miles

Thanks everyone. Smile I like most of these suggestions and will seriously think about:
Alexander
Hugh/Huw
Sebastian
Christopher
Louis
Alistair

I do like John too but probably don't want matching initials

Not actually discussed with DH yet! Baby will get DH's surname so most of the choice of first name will be mine - what we did last time - but I guess he'll get a veto if he really hates something Grin

Thomas William Frederick

PlantPotting · 23/12/2020 18:43

I really like your updated list with these names on:

Alexander, Hugh/Huw, Sebastian, Christopher, Louis and Alistair

ALL SO lovely and timeless. From your main list for boys I like William and Edward best because of them being such timeless names.
My baby daughter is called Rowan and it does get mixed with Roman and I get asked if the name is "Ro...an as in Roman, Rowan or Rohan?" sometimes. It's a lovely name which I already anticipate will date given big recent burst in popularity. It gets shortened to Row already.

Carrotcakey · 23/12/2020 18:46

James, Alexander and George were my boy names. Love them all.
Had girls though so didn’t use them.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 23/12/2020 18:49

Daniel
Christopher
Andrew
Patrick

bravotango · 23/12/2020 19:16

V popular but I think Oliver goes beautifully with James

AuntieStella · 23/12/2020 19:27

I meant my DH !! Grin

He vetoed it Sad

(Even if you (plural) have agreed that you (singular) get the major say, you just can't use a name your DH really doesn't like).

Ah gotcha sorry didn't read properly. I love it but not sure it's too much if not Scottish/Irish (although we do have links...)

Got quite a while to decide (June) just a bit excited Grin
