Stripper names. Cleo isn’t bad, Clem is a nickname/ shortened name.
Jax is common as muck, I think Juno is a girls name, Kylo.....Star Wars.
Sorry OP.

Ohalrightthen · 22/12/2020 13:20

Jesus don't call your kid Kylo!

Marcipex · 22/12/2020 13:22

Juno is a girls name, I like your choices apart from that.
I think Rocco and Blake are cool boys names.

missmouse101 · 22/12/2020 13:24

Coco, Suki
Kit, Ash, Aysa

Littlefluffyclouds13 · 22/12/2020 13:25

'Cool' is definitely a personal thing. None of your cool names are cool in my opinion, most are really naff - sorry!

Also be wary of lumbering your dc with a cool name, it's often painfully embarrassing for them at school (I'm a teacher)
Your idea of cool will almost certainly be there idea of cringeworthy every time a teacher says it. I've been there!

I like missmouse's list. It also depends on your surname imo.

partyatthepalace · 22/12/2020 13:38

Juno is a girl’s name. That and Cleo are nice, Clem is nice but a nn. Think these 3 are cool. But the rest of them are not - they are naff stripper names as a PP said, and whether it’s fair or not, people do make assumptions about kids saddled with names like that.

MimiDaisy11 · 22/12/2020 13:49

Like someone else said "cool" is subjective. I think "Kylo" is geeky since the association is star wars. Another issue with cool names is that they age more and go out of fashion in a way more traditional names don't.

I like Juno for a girl and Clem nn for Clementine is nice too.

ilovemydogandMrObama · 22/12/2020 13:51

DS has a friend called, 'Spike..'

He is very cool.

MyNameForToday1980 · 22/12/2020 13:55

Spike was on our boys list @ilovemydogandmrobama as were Buzz, Rafferty, Gabriel, and Caspar.

In some ways it's probably good that DD was a girl. Girl's names came more easily to us.

LadyLazaruss · 22/12/2020 15:04

I like: Sapphire, Cleo and Clem. Don't like the boys names, though I think Juno is nice for a girl.

MolyHolyGuacamole · 22/12/2020 15:06

Axel.

Nell96 · 22/12/2020 18:02

The problem with 'cool' sounding names is that they date quickly and then become very 'uncool'.

I think Cleo and Juno for a girl are both nice - both have a bit of history attached to them. Clem as a nn for Clementine, possibly. The rest are awful. Maybe try going for a name from nature / mythology / Shakespeare - something which is a bit unusual/ quirky, but is an actual name.

BaronessVonCake · 22/12/2020 18:14

Cleo is lovely from your list, I'm afraid I don't like the others.

I like
Nyree as mentioned by pp
Calla
Fenella/ Fen

Hellish names, just as well you're not pregnant Xmas Hmm

FawnDrench · 22/12/2020 18:29

Why have you got 2 identical threads going?
Seems a tad excessive...

Wide · 22/12/2020 18:33

These names are pretty much really bad. I have an unusual name and it was really hard in school, just not fitting in with a normal name, nobody could say it, the teachers with the register etc I have now picked normal names for my children but still just as good

househuntingFTM · 27/12/2020 09:28

Why would you give your baby a 'cool' name? Wouldn't you rather them be seen as respectable/intelligent/natural/civilised?
A lot of 'cool' names just come across as tacky and cheap.

Jelly4444 · 27/12/2020 12:41

Op, I'm not being mean or snobby but most of those names aren't great. I think that you could find names that are cool but won't have people making automatic negative assumptions about you and your future child.

Lets face it - Roxi, Pixie, Sapphire, Lula and Cleo wouldn't be out of place in a strip club. Theres definitely better names out there. Clem / Clementine / are not bad however.

Names with X in them are often looked down on - Jax / Jaxon is a good example.

Maybe look to some of the top 20 names in different European countries. The Nordic countries tend to have beautiful names in my opinion. Although plenty overlap with our own standard names, others stand out as a little different.

Are you quite young OP? I had horrendous names picked for my kids when I was younger Smile.
