Has your due date to be in June to name your child June?

Hey, i have heard it a lot of times that people said that they would only use the name June if their child was born in June but my due date is March 6. I would personally think its weird if you say Hey i'm June and i'm born in June. But what do you think?

No, I think it's fine any time.

The only June I know was born in April - which is another nice name :)

SwaylorTift · 11/12/2020 12:35

I had an elderly aunt called June and she was born in November.

MercyBodle · 11/12/2020 12:55

I think better not to be born in June if your name is June.

Yennefer19 · 11/12/2020 12:57

For me, being born in June would be a reason not to use that name. It just lacks imagination and makes it seem like you didn’t put much effort in when naming your daughter.

No, my DGM was called June and she was born in November. The name holds a very special place in my heart so I may be biased in thinking it's lovely Xmas Smile

I would not give someones birthday a second thought if I met someone called June (or even Winter, April, Autumn, Summer).....

a great name choice

Nell96 · 11/12/2020 13:54

I think it's fine to use regardless of what month the baby is born in. Dislike the name though, quite dated. Prefer Juno.

IamnotwhouthinkIam · 11/12/2020 14:16

I too prefer the classical Juno or even the traditional Jane, but I don't think a girl called June has to be born in June.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/12/2020 14:43

I think June along with Jean and Jane are pretty much bang on trend with Nora and Ivy etc Juno is a completely different vibe but also lovely.

My grandmother was called June and born in June, it think it’s sweet 😊

KristinaJup · 12/12/2020 21:40

It's completely fine! IMO

MimiDaisy11 · 13/12/2020 11:11

I've seen this brought up a few times. About half of people seem to think you need to be born in June to be called June whereas for the other half they think that's weird and it should be any other month apart from June. LOL. I guess it's up to you.

DilynTheDog · 13/12/2020 18:27

A cousin has a daughter who has a month name as a middle name.
She wasn't born in that month. Not her real name but she is something like Lily June Smith, , so she is often called by her full name.

She is often asked if she was born in June. Her older sibling was, and members of the family has said that she got the middle name they had chosen for her brother.

I wouldn't use it. I'm not keen on any of the month names as first names, although January J*s (actresss) seems a pretty cool name, and she was born in that monh.

AngelDelightUK · 13/12/2020 18:36

My DD was born in April and i very nearly called her that. We didn’t in the end because it was too close to one of her cousins names, and we had the conversation about what if she was early or late and was an April born in March or May.

Somehow though, June and May for names don’t seem to be just for the month they are born in, but April does.

Katgolde · 14/12/2020 07:57

I don't think it makes any difference.

Lovemusic33 · 14/12/2020 08:00

My dd has a slightly festive name but she was not born in December, I don’t think it really matters.

Kanaloa · 14/12/2020 21:08

I don’t think it matters. My friend’s baby has a month name, she wasn’t born in that month but her parents met in that month so special for them.

JanewaysBun · 14/12/2020 22:40

Fine any time and lovely name!

SunInTheSkyYouKnowHowIFeel · 14/12/2020 22:42

I've never even thought of this
