Or does it sound too feminine?

DrDetriment · 27/11/2020 10:06

I suppose it could be but I'm afraid it's not particularly nice.

CountFosco · 27/11/2020 10:07

Sounds like Fanny.

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 27/11/2020 10:08

Vinny from Vincent maybe instead?

DD's a Van/Vanna from Savannah

TheYearOfSmallThings · 27/11/2020 10:08

If his name is Evangelos it could.

Mamette · 27/11/2020 10:08

Definitely too close to Fanny.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 27/11/2020 10:10

Or Evander?

BikeRunSki · 27/11/2020 10:11

It could be a pet form of Vanya or Evan I suppose.
It’s not especially nice though.

JogOnRon · 27/11/2020 10:13

Vanny the Van driver?

JaniceSopranoJr · 27/11/2020 10:14

Fanny.

PoorMansPaulaRadcliffe · 27/11/2020 10:15

Sounds like a blend of Vagina and Fanny. Terrible. What would it be short for?

VioletLemon · 27/11/2020 10:17

Oh Dear God no, if you lived in Scotland school days would simply be hell, fanny is too similar, think, "Wee fanny, ya fanny, yer Maw's a fanny, yer Maw" etc etc... please no.
What about Van as in Van
Morrisson? Sorry.... 🙂

Luckymummy123 · 27/11/2020 10:17

Omg, not what I was hoping for Grin
Short for Ivan.

Vanny the Fanny

MyDarlingWhatIfYouFly · 27/11/2020 10:21

I immediately thought of fanny just like loads of others apparently.

Surely "van" would be better. Vanny isn't shorter than Ivan so you may as well just say Ivan.

DeeandraReynolds · 27/11/2020 10:22

I also thought short for Ivan. What is Van Morrison's full name?

Lindy2 · 27/11/2020 10:22

I'm not sure Ivan really needs a nickname. It is absolutely fine as it is.

You could probably use Van as a nn if you wanted by Vanny really does just lead far too easily on to Fanny (sorry).

DeeandraReynolds · 27/11/2020 10:22

Ah x post, short for Ivan, totally fine. Van probably better.

Moltenpink · 27/11/2020 10:23

Yes it’s like a word that the inbetweeners would use Grin

Gettingthereslowly2020 · 27/11/2020 10:25

I also instantly throught fanny!
Ivan is a lovely name, why does he need a nickname?

diddl · 27/11/2020 10:37

@DeeandraReynolds

I also thought short for Ivan. What is Van Morrison's full name?
George Ivan.
Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 27/11/2020 10:39

Come on op give the kid a chance!

unmarkedbythat · 27/11/2020 10:40

Works for me, but then one of our children got the nickname Obsidian somehow and it stuck for ages

chipsandgin · 27/11/2020 10:42

I’m afraid I thought vagina/fanny combo too, not ideal! Ivan is lovely though - presuming there must be other (less genitalia based) nicknames used for it..

SoupDragon · 27/11/2020 10:43

Yep. Fanny here too! Especially in the teen years.

Twinkie01 · 27/11/2020 10:44

I know an Ivan and everyone calls him Ive.
