Birdyblue

Someone I follow on Instagram (a make up artist and singer) has called her newborn daughter Birdyblue. I like this girl, she seems really down to earth generally so I don’t want to bash anyone’s name choice but I’m not being unreasonable in thinking this is madness?

Apparently her grandmother has a little blue bird house in her garden and she referrs to the visiting birds as her ‘blue birdies’ so somehow it became a nickname for the bump and then it stuck.

The baby’s full name is Birdyblue Biza (apparently short for Ibiza as they love the place) Cece Seagar.

I think it’s cute when you’ve got a tiny newborn but not so much when she’s a 50-something managing director of a company? Or a doctor? I just feel she will be fighting preconceptions about her all her life due to her name and that maybe they haven’t thought this through properly.

I think it wouldn't be so bad if it was two separate names . Birdie Blue Surname . I'm sure I've heard of Birdie as a name . Quite old fashioned ?
