heyy, which combination do you like the most? Im using the name Maureen after my mom. I like June and April both. What do you think?

I think this is challenging - as Maureen is a name that really hasn’t come back around again and would be associated with someone in their 50s-70s, the first name needs to be quite young and fresh.

I like June but not with Maureen as people will assume she is an older woman. April is ok, I like it.

Just thoughts- Autumn Maureen?
Astrid Maureen?
Maple Maureen?
Emily Maureen?
Mila Maureen?
Amber Maureen?
Summer Maureen?
Amara Maureen?

June is a lovely name, but April Maureen to make it sound younger as a combo x

MercyBodle · 25/11/2020 03:15

I really like April, and like April more with Maureen. So, April Maureen.

Biscuits33 · 25/11/2020 03:56

April, but not that keen on either sorry OP!

McRibpain · 25/11/2020 04:06

Neither are good. Definitely not. Also they should be born in that month.

midnightstar66 · 25/11/2020 04:08

I don't think either sound good with Maureen sorry op. June Maureen definitely sounds age 80+ and April I just don't like as a name. Avril is better but still old ladyish. I agree with pp that Maureen needs a young and fresh name in front of it.

Peachbubble · 25/11/2020 06:20

Definitely April Maureen.

happylittlechick · 25/11/2020 06:59

Adding Maureen to the question is a mistake as people rarely use their middle name. Neither sound too old lady until you add the middle name (which doesn't matter as it's hardly used)
I prefer June. April is nice but quite popular

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 25/11/2020 08:11

I like April a lot more than June it sounds really old like you'd be having an 80 year old 😂

ThirdTimeLuckyIHope · 25/11/2020 08:13

@WeBuiltThisBuffetOnSausageRoll 😂😂😂

MikeUniformMike · 25/11/2020 08:45

Avril is awful and Averil is worse.

April and June are ok but it will be assumed to be the birthday month. Neither of them go with Maureen, which I like.

Pick a first name that goes with the surname - middle names aren't often used.

Infinitethings · 25/11/2020 08:51

Those are the names of my parents generation (in their 70s and 80s.) Not keen at all sorry. April at a push.

Evenstar · 25/11/2020 08:51

Does your mum have a middle name which is a bit more up to date than Maureen? It’s lovely to honour her, but I am not sure Maureen would be a great fit with any modern name. I have an adult daughter and it would be just as lovely if she used my middle name.

EssentialHummus · 25/11/2020 08:52

Why are you leaning towards month names OP? I like May and Juno, of things similar to what you were thinking.

ChnandlerBong · 25/11/2020 10:26

sorry neither. both are very old ladyish imo?

May is a prettier name, and Juno/Julia both work.

user1493494961 · 25/11/2020 10:32

Really dislike April, June is OK.

VenusClapTrap · 25/11/2020 11:03

April Maureen is lovely.

WaxOnFeckOff · 25/11/2020 11:35

I like either and to be honest you won't use the middle name much after the announcement so whether it sounds old fashioned together or not doesn't really matter.

All the older names are coming back and a little June (or Joan) or April will be on trend with the Ivys and Noras etc but a bit fresher.

I know a lovely June that was born in April :)

RuthW · 25/11/2020 12:17

I like April best.

ZombieAttack · 25/11/2020 14:23

I don’t like either. And I don’t think either name flows well with Maureen.

Firebird83 · 25/11/2020 15:10

I quite like June Maureen! Very retro! Think I’m in the minority though.

borntohula · 25/11/2020 15:12

Definitely April.
