Hello. I have a 3yr old called Rufus (Ru) and am expecting another boy in January. We have gone round and round with names and there's nothing that stands out.
Any ideas please?

Love Oscar, currently choosing between that and Rufus for DS2!
Also love cosimo and Jasper which DH doesn’t but I think are they same ‘type’.

Oscar is great.

merlotormalbec · 17/11/2020 09:46

I mentioned Oscar to my husband the other night because it's a name I haven't heard for a while! Oscar and Rufus are great together!

Congratulations! It also depends what your surname is of course as he won't be with his brother permanently!

Rufus and Toby
Rufus and Max
Rufus and Marcus (bit samey)

My fave is:
Rufus and Alex (Ru and Al)

Chimbleys · 17/11/2020 15:27

I am leaning towards Oscar but it was the name of a family pet in the past. Is this a problem?

No, I think it's fine to use it. My gran had a (mean) cat called Oscar. I'd still think of it as a human name.

YoniAndGuy · 17/11/2020 21:32

Oh gosh not Fred. That’s one big short straw after Rufus.

How about Ferdinand? It’s got the slightly unusual vibe of Rufus, and Ferdy isn’t too far from Fred?

Jago
Fraser
Bruno, for a theme!

YoniAndGuy · 17/11/2020 21:33

No, love Oscar and goes well with Rufus

YoniAndGuy · 17/11/2020 21:34

Oh sorry missed that Jago is your dog!

Jonathan (Jonty)

Rufus and Jonty 😍
