What are your thoughts on this name?

Where we’re going we don’t need Rhodes.

Doordine · 14/11/2020 20:09

I love it

Saucery · 14/11/2020 20:10

How about Rhodri?

Topseyt · 14/11/2020 20:15

No. Not for me. It's a Greek island, and also associated with that colonialist and arch white supremacist Cecil Rhodes, who named Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) after himself.

HeronLanyon · 14/11/2020 20:16

Rhodesia sprang to mind - avoid was next thought.
Then roads.
Three - it really isn’t a first name for a person.
But there are positive associations too.
I don’t even like the skins of it for a name I think.

HeronLanyon · 14/11/2020 20:17

Sound not skins !

Oneandabean · 14/11/2020 20:32

It’s a perfectly fine surname, not a first name though

FippertyGibbett · 14/11/2020 20:36

No

@june2007

Joseph Goebbels was a nazi, but I still like Joseph, just because someone bad has a name doesn,t mean you can,t use it.
Agreed. But naming your child goebbels might raise an eyebrow.

OP, what are your thoughts on Cecil?

FlouncerInDenial · 14/11/2020 20:48

Sorry, I now see my point has already been made Blush
I should have finished reading the thread first BlushBlush

How about Riley? Or Elliott? Blake? If you like surname type names for girls.

I would avoid Rhodes for the reasons already mentioned on here.
