Avoid with an E surname.

Makes me think of Astrid Baarder Meinhoff one of the Red Army Faction of the Baarder Meinhoff gang in then1970s... but perhaps showing my age!!

I like it. Astrid Lindgren, and the how to train your dragon films come to mind.

I like it a lot, but it has been so popular in my area (East London) for the last 5 years that I would hesitate to use it.

Yes, and here's why.

The midwife that delivered DS2 was called Astrid and she was so bloody marvelous that, had he been a girl, I'd have named him (her!) after her.

DH had his vasectomy this week so I feel like the universe is owed an Astrid
