It's nice.Likely to be more popular than you think.

MikeUniformMike · 11/11/2020 19:42

Avoid with an E surname.

Pascal2908 · 11/11/2020 19:48

Makes me think of Astrid Baarder Meinhoff one of the Red Army Faction of the Baarder Meinhoff gang in then1970s... but perhaps showing my age!!

Byemelania · 11/11/2020 19:49

I’m sorry I think it’s a bit mature, a stocky older woman’s name 🙊

ChanklyBore · 11/11/2020 19:51

I like it. Astrid Lindgren, and the how to train your dragon films come to mind.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/11/2020 19:53

I like it a lot, but it has been so popular in my area (East London) for the last 5 years that I would hesitate to use it.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 11/11/2020 19:53

Lovely. Gaining in popularity, but hardly an Olivia/Grace/Ella risk...

Planetzog · 11/11/2020 19:54

I love it, very Scandinavian

Wornout12108 · 11/11/2020 19:55

I love it, however I cannot hear the name
And not think of the episode of the US Office where Michael reads the name
As As-turd, it was a brilliant episode. It's a beautiful name just reminds me of that episode.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 11/11/2020 19:57

Makes me think of Astrid Kircher btw, so stylish and artistic rather than stocky terrorist!

It’s been my favourite girls name for about twenty years but I never got to use it sadly

Flamingolingo · 11/11/2020 19:57

I know an Astrid. She’s awesome.

astridforty · 11/11/2020 19:57

I like it 😬😬

Tearsfortiers · 11/11/2020 19:58

I love it. It's a great, strong name.

MisfitNotMissFit · 11/11/2020 19:59

I only know one and she absolutely rocks it.

houselikeashed · 11/11/2020 20:00

I like it. I knew an Astrid many years ago and she was so cool, I wanted to be her! I seem to remember she was Scandinavian.

DepuisToujours · 11/11/2020 20:00

It's ok. Not my favourite. Nothing 'wrong' with it though.

Namechangedforthisoct2 · 11/11/2020 20:02

It’s in my top 5!

Montsti · 11/11/2020 20:07

I went to school with an Astrid (she was lovely) but she was often called “Astride” followed by naughty giggles...

Merename · 11/11/2020 20:08

I love it! DH wouldn’t agree tho.

Yes, and here's why.

The midwife that delivered DS2 was called Astrid and she was so bloody marvelous that, had he been a girl, I'd have named him (her!) after her.

DH had his vasectomy this week so I feel like the universe is owed an Astrid

janetmendoza · 11/11/2020 20:10

Likewise - The office' which is a shame because I love it

stickygotstuck · 11/11/2020 20:12

Beautiful, and a nice meaning.

Firebird83 · 11/11/2020 21:15

Lovely.
