Frankie and...?

I'm pregnant with identical twin girls due in the next couple of weeks. We love the name Frankie (Francesca) and have decided that's one of the names, but are really struggling with the other one! The two middle names are going to be Jean and Mary after our grandmothers. I think Frankie Jean sounds better than Frankie Mary but it's going to depend mainly on the name of the other twin as to who gets which middle name. Surname begins with P.

The names we like are:
Ella
Remi/Remy
Evie
Lola
Lyla
Mila
Georgie

What do you think goes best with Frankie, and thinking about the middle names too? Or do you have any other suggestions?

TIA 😊

I love Frankie Jean! Drew Barrymore has daughters called Frankie and Olive

Lizadork · 08/11/2020 22:13

Francesca and Ellouisa
So Frankie and Ella as nicknames

Lizadork · 08/11/2020 22:14

Like Francesca and Georgiana best
Very similar style.

ShanCalla · 08/11/2020 22:19

Frankie and Georgie sounds great.

Frankie and Zooey - was that a book by JD Salinger?

LittleRa · 08/11/2020 22:31

@ShanCalla

Frankie and Georgie sounds great.

Frankie and Zooey - was that a book by JD Salinger?

Frankie and Johnny were sweethearts
Oh, what a couple in love
Frankie was loyal to Johnny
Just as true as the stars above

Frankie and Liv (Olivia)

mintich · 08/11/2020 22:45

Georgie

user686827 · 08/11/2020 22:48

I definitely think Georgie from your list. I think it makes sense to have two feminine name that shorten to unisex names. Rather than one unisex nickname and one overly feminine nickname like Ella. Definitely not Ella or Evie, they are too bland and overused.

user686827 · 08/11/2020 22:51

But I'd go for Georgina as the full name.

MilsCookie · 08/11/2020 23:22

Wow thank you everyone so much for your opinions, I wasn't expecting so much feedback! It looks like Georgie is a favourite... and I take your point @user686827 about not having one unisex and one overly feminine... hmmm decisions decisions!! Thanks again everyone 😊

Benny - sorry I couldn't help myself either!

Summerdayshaze · 09/11/2020 01:09

Thought Georgie as soon as saw post title.

Danniiaddy · 09/11/2020 01:25

Frankie and Georgie sound like you really wanted boys IMHO but ok as nn if full names are
Francesca and Georgia/Georgina.
The girls can always opt for different nn if they prefer eg Ceska & Gina

LaBodDelMed · 09/11/2020 01:40

@MilsCookie - like @Lizadork I was going to suggest Georgiana, it’s a gorgeous name and goes so well with Francesca. And then you get Frankie and Georgie.
Francesca Jean and Georgiana Mary - perfect!

PickleWithEverything · 09/11/2020 01:40

Bernadette. Then you have Frankie & Benny

MilsCookie · 09/11/2020 09:00

That's my worry about Frankie and Georgie too @Danniiaddy even though I love that combo!!

Thank you everyone!

Lola or Ella are lovely

Cora?
Willa?
Nina?

WandaDavy · 09/11/2020 15:28

Frankie was our choice for a girl, but we had a boy. Nico was also a strong contender. I think Frankie and Nico sound great together! I love unisex names.

LittleTiger007 · 09/11/2020 15:37

I love Georgie! I have a masculine name and it didn’t make me a masculine girl/woman or make me feel like my parents secretly wanted a boy. Frankie and Georgie are great names!
I think you could also use Clemmie, in a similar vein and a bit more unusual than Georgie.

YoniAndGuy · 09/11/2020 15:57

Like Georgie (I’d have Francesca and Georgette!) but it’s a bit theme-y and does make it sound like you wanted two boys. And it’s a bit Frankie and Bennys!

I think I would have Francesca Jean and Lola Mary.

Mila doesn’t go, dislike Lyla and Evie and Ellie are SO overused you may as well just call her ChildB!

Firebird83 · 09/11/2020 16:43

I would go with Francesca Jean and Georgina Mary. Frankie and Georgie.

Quercus3 · 10/11/2020 09:18

I went to school with 2 lovely sisters Frankie and George (Francesca and Georgina).
I think if they have longer more feminine name then it doesn't matter that they shorten to masculine nicknames, they can always choose other nicknames as they get older if they prefer. I do think Frankie and Georgie are lovely though.

TheNanny23 · 10/11/2020 23:23

I’d also go with Georgie short for Georgia/ Georgiana

I love the previous suggestions of Bonnie & Clemmie

I’d also suggest Cassie

I echo that although you don’t want to be matchy matchy it’s odd to have one longer, shortened to gender neutral name, with a short very girly name like Lola.

JemimaTiggywinkle · 14/11/2020 19:30

What about Pippa?
Pippa Mary sounds nice
