Middle name help

TashP92 · 05/11/2020 20:12

We aren't finding out the gender of our final baby, but we have shortlisted first names. However we're really struggling with middle names 🙃 Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated - and opinions on the first names we've chosen (we haven't decided on the top name for both genders!)

Our shortlisted first names are:

Girls
Beatrix (Trixie)
Nox
Reign

Boys
Bexley
Knox
Huxton

Thanks in advance 😁

@MikeUniformMike

Reggie is fine. I know a little Reggie. Never thought about twins.

People can be twats OP.

They really can... there's a polite way for people to say they dislike something

Emerson is lovely for a boy and uncommon

BabyG123 · 05/11/2020 22:43

I don't recall OP asking for a opinion on the names she likes.

I hate it when people do this!

Anyway OP

Beatrix is traditional so I'd go like like Rose as a middle name.

As it is shorter I'd go for a longer middle name but also a 'out there name'

Reign the same as above although I quite like Reign Elizabeth or is there a elder relative you can take the name from?

Bexley James is nice but I'd be aware if the initial BJ!

Knox And Huxton I'd go for one of these

Good luck and ignore the haters!

Thank you! Although I set myself up saying I was open to opinions.... although not to be annihilated!! Halloween Angry

I like Elizabeth with Reign (although open to spelling it Raine).

Definitely can't inflict BJ haha!

Thank you for the support Grin

OP, I meant some people can be offensive and say things like 'that's a ridiculous name' or similar to your face.

formerbabe · 06/11/2020 10:23

The thing is in real life when you tell people your dcs name, they won't say anything negative to you out of politeness. However, on here people will tell you the truth about what they think...it might feel harsh but it is probably quite a good indicator of what people in real life will be thinking but won't say.

Flymetothestars · 06/11/2020 10:24

Roxanne

Huxley
Dexter
Axel

BabyG123 · 06/11/2020 12:54

@TashP92 I'm starting to think people misread your post too.

I don't think anyone's suggested middle names 🤣

Good luck.

And spell it how you wish! I wouldn't say boy or girl for either ways of spelling it unless your a Kardashian fan!

MikeUniformMike · 06/11/2020 12:56

I suggested middle names.
I've seen Beatrix Raine upthread.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 06/11/2020 13:06

Beatrix (Trixie) - nicest of your list but prefer Bea as a NN
Nox - really no!
Reign - Raine is better

Bexley - I don’t hate it but I don’t like it
Knox - awful
Huxton - awful

SaffieSoph · 06/11/2020 13:58

Trixie Reign is a lovely name.

Boys names - what about Hendrix? Or Hudson?

TashP92 · 06/11/2020 14:33

I don't think it's necessarily a case of being polite in person, I think it's more a case of some people sat behind a keyboard think they can act like a t**t without the repercussions of having to face that person again. So they're point blank rude and offensive

I hadn't thought of Bea as a NN - thank you! Although we already have a Betsy so may get confusing!

Definitely open to a different spelling of Reign, the more I see it written as Raine the more I prefer that way

I think like two people have suggested middle names 🤣

The main problem I have is that my sister is also pregnant and her two name choices - Zachary and Violet - are the two names I'd wanted also without either of us knowing!

I do quite like Huxley.... ty!

Zachary and Violet are very nice but very popular

I think you might like Winston as a mn for a boy and Zuleika for a girl.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 06/11/2020 15:44

I would say Bea and Betsy sounds better than Trixie and Betsy personally.

In terms of middle names:
Beatrix Rose
Beatrix Raine

Names beginning with an R seem to sound nice after Beatrix.

Sorry if I’ve missed it but how many syllables is your surname? What does it begin with?

micc · 06/11/2020 16:19

I like beatrix and Knox :) I prefer the spelling of Raine for a girl :)

Bubbletrouble43 · 06/11/2020 16:21

Beatrix Renee
Huxley Robert

MikeUniformMike · 06/11/2020 19:09

Beatrix Renee is lovely. Huxley Robert is nice too.

YoniAndGuy · 07/11/2020 21:44

Pixie is pretty good actually!

Like Beatrix, go with that if not.

How about Fox for a boy?

mathanxiety · 08/11/2020 04:48

Fox is maybe a little too short and Anglo Saxon.

mathanxiety · 08/11/2020 04:49

How about Jackson?

garlictwist · 08/11/2020 05:20

Isn't nox the name of a drug?

Just the one syllable - starts with a P.

I like Beatrix Raine - thanks!
