Hello!

We shortlisted 3 names from the list we had before.
Could you please let me know what a child and a grown-up girl with this name reminds you of?

The girl will be black African.

What's your favourite and why?

AMABETTE (this is pronounced with the accent on the A, like Amabel)

LILIBET

AMALUNA

Not a massive fan of any sorry. If I had fo choose it would be Amabette

I still prefer Amabel.

VioletSunset · 24/10/2020 12:58

Lilibet

FelicityPike · 24/10/2020 13:01

Lilibet was the Queen’s childhood nickname because she couldn’t pronounce Elizabeth.
I like Amaluna.

IamMaz · 24/10/2020 13:08

Oh dear - none really OP. Sorry.
Lillibet at a pinch but again reminds me of the Queen...

DownThePlath · 24/10/2020 13:09

Amaluna

MikeUniformMike · 24/10/2020 14:33

Of the three Lilibet but it's too closely linked to Her Maj.

Trevorina · 24/10/2020 14:58

Amaluna

Love the name Amaluna.

Amabette second favourite,

Lilibet reminds me too much of the Queen.

Fredchicken · 24/10/2020 16:59

Op, what's YOUR favourite?

That should matter, not what a random group of Internetters think.

coronabeer · 24/10/2020 18:17

Amaluna... tic. Sorry. If your dd is going to be growing up in the UK, I wouldn't. There's a lot of scope for teasing there.

I'd go for Lilibet, I think it's quite pretty.

coronabeer · 24/10/2020 18:23

But ultimately, just go for what you prefer, I see my children's names on here from time and they are not universally popular, but I still like their names. On the other hand, I regularly see names that I hate being put forward as suggestions. Everyone has their own preferences and it would be boring if they didn't.

One thing to remember though is that your dd will be the one living with the name, so it's best to avoid names with obvious teasing potential. And it doesn't apply here, but weird spellings of well-known names are subjecting your child to a lifetime of correcting people.
