Hi everyone,

Our 2nd child is due next week and we still dont have a name. We already have a boy who has a very unique name and would want to try and go for a name this time you dont always hear. If baby 2 was a boy he was going to be Hugo but baby 2 is a girl!

Our current list is:

Marcie
Pheobe
Francesca
Minnie
Poppy
Orla

Let me know your thoughts on these please or feel free to add some suggestions as we have looked through thousands of names and still not found one we love!

Thanks

'Minnie' is a word some use for the female genital area. Don't use it.

Francesca is nice.

FrancesFlute · 23/10/2020 09:36

The usual spelling is Phoebe, not Pheobe.

I personally like Phoebe, Francesca and Orla. Poppy is lovely but I reckon quite popular currently, which may or may not bother you.

What about:
Marnie
Ailie/Eilidh (ay-lee)

HalfBloodPrincess · 23/10/2020 09:36

Marcie would be my pick from your list, although I prefer Marcia.

Thefaceofboe · 23/10/2020 09:36

Agree with pp, Minnie is awful for a name. I like Orla and Franschesca from your list.

Katgolde · 23/10/2020 09:36

I like Poppy and Phoebe.

Phoebe. Though Poppy and Orla are also nice.

FolkSongSweet · 23/10/2020 09:49

As long as you spell Phoebe correctly, I’d go with that or Francesca.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/10/2020 09:56

Phoebe or Francesca

I think i prefer Francesca out of the two though:)

livelaughlovemykids · 23/10/2020 10:01

Well I might be a tiny bit biased but I LOVE the name Anastasia!!
My little girl has that name you see and I think it's simply beautiful Grin

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/10/2020 10:03

Anastasia is gorgeous

lepardprint · 23/10/2020 10:09

I absolutely love Francesca

Namechangedforthisoct2 · 23/10/2020 10:15

Sorry to derail slightly @livelaughlovemykidsbut does Anastasia have a nn? I like it too but wouldn’t want Ana as a nn....

Marcie - yes but prefer Marnie
Pheobe - bit 80’s/ 90’s for me
Francesca - so so
Minnie - no, maybe as a nn
Poppy - sweet but very popular
Orla - nice

Alba / Alma
Nora
Cassie
River
Willow

emmathedilemma · 23/10/2020 10:30

Phoebe or Orla for me.
Francesca is a bit long and frilly.
Minnie is just awful, and I can't get the mouse associations out of my head, let alone female genitalia!
Poppy seems to be on the increase in popularity, i'm not a huge fan.
Marcie.....unusual, not sure I like it but it could grow on me. It feels like it should be a nickname for something.

PattyPan · 23/10/2020 11:49

I love Phoebe but don’t use it if you can’t spell it. I also love Francesca but not so keen on your others - Poppy is a bit twee, I wouldn’t use Orla unless you had Irish heritage and Minnie and Marcie are nicknames - better to give a full name as the legal name. Minerva/Marcella?

FluffyEggsontoast · 23/10/2020 13:44

Minnie is awful, it's a girls private parts
Much better as a nickname for Clementine or Marnie ?

PoodleMoth · 23/10/2020 20:20

Marcie is nice if you want something less popular. If your boy's name is very unusual I would stay away from more common names for your second

StrawScarecrow · 23/10/2020 20:27

@Namechangedforthisoct2 I believe Stacey can be short for Anastasia.

Other than Francesca I come across most of your names quite often.

Bid876 · 23/10/2020 20:32

Love Orla, if we had another girl, we have 3 already, it would be a toss up between Orla or Oona x

GirlCalledJames · 23/10/2020 20:35

Marnie
Minna
Celeste
Niobe
Sonnet

SwedishEdith · 23/10/2020 20:36

I knew an Anastasia years ago who was known as Stasia (I presume) but pronounced Staysha.

Kanaloa · 23/10/2020 20:36

I really like Poppy & Francesca. The other names are ok, I don’t really like Minnie for some reason. Reminds me of Minnie Mouse I suppose.

user1493494961 · 23/10/2020 20:37

Francesca is lovely, Phoebe is nice as long as you spell it properly.

DramaAlpaca · 23/10/2020 21:03

Orla is the only one I like, but only if you are Irish and can say it properly.

Don't use Phoebe unless you can spell it properly.
