Hi all,
So basically, both me and my partner love the name Olivia and have agreed that if we have a baby girl we would possibly go for this name. I just wondered what all you guys opinion on it is? Do you think its too popular at the moment? I also like Jean as a middle name, as this is my partner's nan's name and I just feel like it fits really well (Olivia Jean). What's your thoughts?

It's a beautiful name OP I think it's quite popular but if you love it, it shouldn't matter. Olivia Jean is nice, Olivia Rose?

MikeUniformMike · 21/10/2020 18:11

It's nice but very popular. Jean is nice.
Rose is so overused as a middle name

boohooyoutoo · 21/10/2020 18:12

Love Olivia but other posters are right, it's very common these days

midsomermurderess · 21/10/2020 18:20

Quite ordinary, somewhat prim.

throwaway100000 · 21/10/2020 18:21

I don’t mind it, she would probably be known as “Liv” though.

TobblyBobbly · 21/10/2020 18:22

Lovely name, it is popular but if you love it I'd say go for it!

DramaAlpaca · 21/10/2020 18:23

It's lovely. I really like Olivia Jean.

Nackajory · 21/10/2020 18:25

I know numerous Olivia's from mid twenties down to young girls. It's a lovely name, depends if you can live with there being loads

Leobynature · 21/10/2020 18:25

It’s a beautiful name but very common. There are 3 in my daughters small nursery.

BreakfastOfWaffles · 21/10/2020 18:25

It's very popular at the moment but that's only really an issue if you don't like the idea of lots of other Olivia's in her peer group.

MamaMiaMama · 21/10/2020 18:27

I love the name...but I'm bias Wink

ivfbeenbusy · 21/10/2020 18:35

Hasn't it been number one or at least top 3 for years now? That being said I don't think there is a single girl In DD reception class called Olivia but I know quite a few people in my wider circle with An Olivia

micc · 21/10/2020 18:53

It is lovely, as long as you dont mind that she might not be the only one in her class I dont see an issue. Love Jean.

Oneandabean · 21/10/2020 19:03

It’s been number 1 for a few years now so quite popular but it’s lovely

lanbro · 21/10/2020 19:09

Boring, overused...so many really beautiful names out there, I don't think Olivia is even that beautiful yet so so popular for some reason

M0rT · 21/10/2020 19:10

I love Olivia Jean! Classic, easy to spell and pronounce. Go for it

supersky · 21/10/2020 19:14

If you're not fussed about the name being popular then go for it. It's a nice name and Jean goes well with it

CosmicVagina · 21/10/2020 19:18

Boring and ugly IMO, and terribly overused

WhoUsedMyName · 21/10/2020 19:29

I always see on here just how over used it is but I don't know one child called Olivia And there is one in my dc whole school and neither eldest dc 13 has never mentioned one in secondary school

iftherewereahorseyinthehouse · 21/10/2020 19:34

I like it but my immediate thought was boring - what's the point of naming your child a name that three or four other kids in her class will have.

Better than Isabelle thought - EVERY BABY

iftherewereahorseyinthehouse · 21/10/2020 19:34

I like Jean though.

DollyParton2 · 21/10/2020 19:39

Completely agree with lanbro boring and overused. Indicates a serious lack of taste generally in this country that a lot of the most popular names are so ordinary.

DownThePlath · 21/10/2020 19:40

So boring

NannyR · 21/10/2020 19:44

Olivia Jean is a great name - it's popular for a good reason. I only know of one Olivia under ten.

emptyplinth · 21/10/2020 19:47
