What other names would you suggest? DD3 due in December and we are completely stumped. Also like the name Josephine and DH likes Eleanora but says Clementine is 'too much'. Our last name is one syllable if that makes a difference.

I love Clementine. I also like Delphine and Evangeline and Violet.

I love Clementine and I adore Josephine too.

How about Constance?

Glitterbubbles · 27/09/2020 22:32

Emmeline?

Clementine, Elspeth, Juliet, Madeleine, Caroline, Jennifer, Josephine, Anastasia, Elizabeth, Elinor/Eleanor ( not keen on Eleanora; seems a bit stretched), Marianne, Georgina, Claudia.

Some gorgeous names here.

I'd say most have similar elegance to clementine (except Constance, Vanessa and Miranda, which sound rather clunky).

A name I love and wish I'd used is Amandine (Ah-mon-deen), which I think has a similar tone to the names you like.

I love Leonor (like the Spanish princess) as an alternative to Eleanora or Eleanor.

GiggyThePomeranian · 28/09/2020 07:00

Some excellent suggestions in here, will put them to DH.

I don't think Clementine is too out there, it's still my favourite but DH is convinced alongside our other DDs names it would be 'too much'. I disagree!

Adaline pronounced the American way (Adaline not Adaleen) I think it has the same ring to it as Clementine

Flymetothestars · 28/09/2020 09:16

Clementine is lovely. It really isn't out there. I don't understand that. Maybe he's imagining it sounding "out there" when he was at school and people were called Claire and Lisa. I get that
Maybe if you tell him names like Isabella, Arabella, Felicity are all popular now and Clementine would fit in great with all those names
