Not sure I'd ever use them but I quite like Hope.

Guilty love is Blessing - heard it once and think it's beautiful! I don't think I could ever pull it off though.

Constance, Clemency and Grace as a middle name

AstiniMartini · 25/09/2020 19:26

i read a book once about Deliverance Dane, one of the women accused of witchcraft in Salem.

That name ROCKS.

CormoranStrike · 25/09/2020 21:20

Grace and Verity.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 25/09/2020 21:21

I work with a girl named Confidence. She's lovely.

motherofdxughters · 25/09/2020 21:22

Verity and Grace.

janetmendoza · 25/09/2020 21:29

I know a Courage who is fabulous - a tireless care worker for learning disabled adults.

YouBringLightInToADarkPlace · 25/09/2020 21:50

I worked with a Comfort once... she really lived up to her name too!

Headstand · 25/09/2020 22:15

I love virtue names. Favourites are Constance (Connie), Grace, Hope, Liberty (and the Spanish version, Libertad), Joy.

Amity. Trinity. Clemency.

Bourbonbiscuits20 · 26/09/2020 14:22

Knew of a boy called fortitude, pretty cool but a bit much for me.

florascotia2 · 26/09/2020 15:01

There is a 17th cent Puritan name 'Pleasant' (and I think Dickens uses it too).

Oscar Wilde's mother wrote under the pen-name 'Speranza' (= Hope) which is rather pretty, I think.

ElizabethG81 · 27/09/2020 18:07

I can't choose a favourite but here's some I like that I've not seen mentioned:

Glory
Unity
Bravery

ShrimpSymphony · 27/09/2020 18:09

Honor and Prudence

SadWife2020 · 27/09/2020 22:55

There’s also Beloved, like the Toni Morrison book

EvenMoreFuriousVexation · 27/09/2020 23:14

There's Fidelia (f) or Fidelis (m) which means Faith

We have a pet rat who was injured as a baby but battled on, so we named her Valerie (Brave)

We have another from the same litter we've called Ruth

Sophia (Wisdom)

WithASpider · 27/09/2020 23:18

Dd1's middle name is Constance, Dd2's is Grace. If DS had been a Dd3 he would have had Faith.

Love Mercy, Honor and Hope too.

dimdarkashian · 27/09/2020 23:23

One of my students is called 'Godknows'

LadyGAgain · 27/09/2020 23:40

Best name thread ever Grin

BoudicasBoudoir · 28/09/2020 15:23

I remember a book where the heroine was called Silence. Not sure it would suit many babies, though.

LadyGAgain · 28/09/2020 18:08

Nor my 3 year old whose lungs are currently rivalling Pavarotti's Confused
