I'm looking for one syllable names (Thanks for everyones help on my last post!) and I've come across the name Saffron to be shortened to Saff.
I kinda (really) like it but my husband things its, to quote him "chavvy".
Does it sound daft? What would you think if you came across someone called Saffron?

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Not sure why it would be seen as 'bizarre' or even "odd" to think Saffron is middle class. The OP says hèr DH thinks it chavvy. I live in a vair posh village next to a proudly chavvy town I work with hundreds of little kids. The Saffrons are from the villages, not the town.

Surfaces Saffie! Surfaces!!

I'm afraid for me it will always be Saffie Darling ..

Oh I wish we’d thought of Saffron! It’s lovely.

Saff is awful.

RattleOfBars · 11/09/2020 09:22

I like it but it’s a very popular dogs name too!

I’m pregnant with a baby girl and was considering Saffron and also calling her Saffie for short. My partner wasn’t so keen so not going with it but it’s a lovely name

VenusClapTrap · 14/09/2020 10:58

I like Saffron. I wouldn’t shorten it.
