Slavic names?

Do you know any Slavic names that you think could work in the UK?
I can only think of Alexander and Roman. Recently saw people mentioning traditional Russian names here like Yaakov, really? Out LO is going to be dual heritage.

I'd say
Boris
Alexander
Victor
Are all not only Slavic but good international names as well, would work in France too f.e..

Any more like those?

Anton, Alexei? Though English speakers will battle with Lyosha/Lyogha.

NaToth · 08/09/2020 12:49

I love Milan and Stilyan.

NaToth · 08/09/2020 12:49

Oh, and Marius.

Not Leonid. Think Brezhnev.

Viletta · 08/09/2020 15:50

Another one that can work in both countries is Dennis 🤔

@bellinisurge I'd shorten it to Leon and no one would know😊

I rather like Dennis and once taught a little one whose mother was Russian.

Arkady every time

Octavian?

I was in a serious relationship with a guy from the Czech Republic and we planned on naming any potential sons Milan and Lazlo.

I think they work in a slightly hipster vibe way. I still think they’re swoon worthy 🙂

In regards to Russian names, a work colleague named his son Ivan. I think short names work:

Ivan
Alexei
Dmitri
Mischa (which was originally considered a boy’s name)
Sacha
Fyodor (a cooler version of Theodore)

Erik?
