Three letter boys/girls names

Katlow · 04/09/2020 10:34

Eeeee I'm excited.

So, I'm after some 3 letter names. Or names that can be shortened to 3 letters as a nickname.

Me and my husband both have 3 letter nicknames so, for example, Jay & Cat so want something that suits our little family unit

Do they need to be 3 letters? Some 3 letter names are 1 syllable some 2. Does the amount of letters matter more than that?

Oooo I love these! Been at work and only just seen all the responses.
Ones I'm loving so far are:

Kit (although not keen on Christopher)
Bea (although not keen on Beatrice... I'm sensing a theme here :P)
I LOVE Ivy but thought it may be too common
Love Mya and Faye

I think its more the one syllable aspect of it so it doesnt sound odd. Like I love some longer names but when you say all our names together it just sounds daft.

Thankyou so much for all your suggestions!

For what its worth OP, of the 2 Kit's I know, neither are actually Christopher on their BC. I just added the long name in case it was what you were after.

What about Phoebe with Bee as the shortening?

Audrey - Aud
Dorothy - Dot
Evelyn/Evangeline - Eve
Henry/Henrietta - Hen
Joseph - Joe
Mabel - May
Megan - Meg
Miriam - Mim
Olive/Olivia - Liv
Pippa/Philippa - Pip
Rachel - Rae
Rosalind - Roz
Sebastian - Seb

Of course, there's every chance that your child will end up calling themselves a completely different nickname which has no relation to their name and/or a different number of letters.
