Sibling for Arthur & India

Baby no.3 is a girl. We have Arthur and India already. Which do you think goes best out of our shortlist? I tend to like less popular names - Arthur was picked before the huge rise!!!

Florence (maybe too popular for us)
Ophelia
Arabella
Hattie (normally prefer full names but there aren't any for Hattie that I love)
Primrose
Effie (as above re. full names!)

Thanks!

Like a PP's suggestion of Elodie and I'd add Eloise as another suggestion. Agree with sticking to vowel names.

Arabella and Primrose from your list,

I came on to suggest Romy.

What full times would work best for Hattie and Effie, other than Harriet and Elizabeth?

Your dc names have a rather 'Queen Victoria' vibe (Arthur was one of her sons, and she was Empress of India!) If you are considering other names, her daughters were Victoria, Alice, Helena, Louise and Beatrice Smile

Of the names you've shortlisted, Hattie's my favourite. Apparently, as well as Harriet, it's also a short form of Henrietta.

SE13Mummy · 04/09/2020 21:11

Hattie can also be short for Henrietta or Hedwig.

Effie is used as a diminutive for Euphemia!

SE13Mummy · 04/09/2020 21:19

Euphemia, Persephone, Josephine, Stephanie would work as longer names for Effie.

Or Effel (Ethel) depending on your accent.

How about Greta nn Ettie
Edith nn Edie
Roxanne nn Roxy

I love the name Hettie.

Effie makes me think of Effie White in Dreamgirls. Not a terrible association as she is eventually one of the heroines of the story but I always wondered what name that would have been short for.
