Hello,

If I have a daughter, I decided to name her Edith after my grandmother who passed away peacefully this year and also of course because I like the name !
As for the middle name, I hesitate between Rose and Elizabeth. Do you prefer Edith Rose or Edith Elizabeth ? I'm also open to suggestions.
Many thanks!

Edith Rose and Elizabeth sound great! I prefer Rose, as it doesn't have the double E, but here are some more that I like!

Edith June
Edith May
Edith Louise
Edith Aurora
Edith Lucie
Edith Penelope
Edith Arabella

My Nan was Edith Amy.

Edith Bryony came to mind. I prefer Rose, of your two options.

I love the alliteration, Edith Elizabeth is lovely. How about Edith Eliza? Agree that Rose is a tad boring!! I like a middle name to mean something, so both my daughters have their grandmother's names as middle names, but as you have done that with the first name just go creative with it and enjoy!

Edith Elizabeth works I think.

I bet something like 2/3 of Ediths in the last few years are Edith Rose.

Before opening I thought, Edith Alexandra.

If you like Rose but find it 'dull' what about Rosemary? Or Rosaria, Rosanne or Rosamunde?

Thanks for the useful comments! I’m leaning towards Edith Rose.
I see that there are other precious grandmothers named Edith!

Go with your heart OP! I wouldn't worry about a middle name being too common, it is a middle name, after all. Smile

Both sound good (and I love Edith), but I like Edith Elizabeth better.

BeKindItCostsNothing · 03/09/2020 08:14

Rose is a bit of a filler middle name.

Edith Elizabeth sounds and looks good.

FizzingWhizzbee123 · 04/09/2020 10:15

Rose is massively overused as a middle name.... however I think Edith Rose sounds lovely and would be tempted to use it

Viletta · 07/09/2020 03:09

Edith Josephine
Edith May

I usually think Rose is overused but actually it's lovely with Edith

Since you're open to suggestions, I think you should make the middle name dishwasher. It really calls to the thing she is going to be meant to do on this Earth.

Why not Edith Elizabeth Rose Surname?
