Beatrice is lovely.

I think Charlotte and Eleanor are the best out of the 4. I’d go with Eleanor as it’s less popular than Charlotte. Also not keen on the nn Charlie for a girl which she will possibly get one day.

Eleanor is lovely

CoffeeandKitKat · 28/08/2020 10:59

Charlotte or Eleanor

SirSamuelVimesBlackboardMonito · 28/08/2020 11:04

I love Eleanor but there's a lot of variation in pronunciation. Ellen-or, El-ay-nor, Ellen-uh, Ella-nor. Could be annoying.

Marianne? Eliza?

Frazzled2207 · 28/08/2020 11:07

I know a Beatrice with a sister Florence

Frazzled2207 · 28/08/2020 11:08

Sorry didn’t answer your question of your list I prefer Charlotte

Flymetothestars · 28/08/2020 11:24

Imogen or Eleanor. Both great choices

Beasmamma · 28/08/2020 11:24

Thank you for the replies.

@newmum332 I don’t like Charlie as a nn either, so would hope that we would be able to get Lottie to stick.

Personally I would use Imogen or Mariella

Charlotte and Beatrice is a bit too royal for my liking and Ive just never thought Eleanor was that nice of a name and I am not keen on the Ellie shortening. I would also feel that Eleanor would feel she had been given the plain name over the pretty Beatrice

elfran · 28/08/2020 11:38

I'd go with Eleanor or Imogen; both gorgeous, non-fussy classics that mimic the vibe of Beatrice, imo.

Charlotte is just too common to my ear now (and does lean a little royal with Beatrice) and Mariella just seems an outlier - a bit frilly and OTT compared to all the others.

(Speaking as an Eleanor, I have always adored my name and would pick it over any of the others. But horses for courses- I think trying to imagine what your future DD will think of her name is a futile exercise, there's no telling what her own tastes will be!)

Ginandplatonic · 28/08/2020 11:43

Eleanor. Love it - it was my girl name for each of my 4 boys and I never got to use it.

Imogen is nice too. Charlotte is fine but I know sooo many (might not bother you though). Not particularly keen on Mariella.

emmathedilemma · 28/08/2020 11:45

Charlotte or Eleanor, probably Eleanor if I had to pick between the two.
Not a fan of Imogen and "Imo" as a nn is truly awful.
Mariella is too frilly for me.

FizzyGreenWater · 28/08/2020 11:48

Eeek. All good names, but...

Charlotte and Beatrice - very royal. But good.

Eleanor - She will be one of the 300000000000 Ellies. It's a lovely name, but no.

Imogen I don't really like and I think it's just not in the same league as Beatrice.

Mariella a bit left field - could think of many more nicer options. Marianne for sure.

Other beautiful classic options to go with Beatrice -

Anna
Polydora
Josephine
Melissa
Catriona

Eleanor is lovely but I like all your choices except Mariella. Have to smile at Mariella being a bit left field but poster suggesting Polydora.

namenerd · 28/08/2020 11:58

Beatrice and Bianca would sound so cute together! 😍
My other suggestions are:
Pippa, Tessa, Romilly, Cassia, Marlow, Mabel, Rosalina, Isla and Matilda

bigbella26 · 28/08/2020 12:30

I'm biased as I have an Eleanor. Charlotte (Lottie) was on my list too but fell in love with the nickname of Nell for Eleanor. We call her by both names and I love it.

Lol no, I’m all for the left field options as you can tell- I just meant, I can think of nicer left field ones!
CharlieBoo · 28/08/2020 15:33

What about Alice that goes so well with Beatrice x

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 28/08/2020 15:52

@FizzyGreenWater Eleanor is a royal name too, Queen Eleanor of Aquitaine.

I think Eleanor or Charlotte go very well with Beatrice. They match the length well.

Beasmamma · 28/08/2020 16:11

Looks like Eleanor is the current favourite. Thanks all!

@CharlieBoo I really like Alice but DH doesn’t like it all.

Of course! I was thinking of royals now though - Princess Beatrice, Princess Charlotte - all a bit 'typical royal-y'

SteakExpectations · 28/08/2020 16:15

I know a Beatrice with a sister, Victoria.

From your list, I think my favourite is Charlotte - Lottie to go with Beatrice - B

Beamur · 28/08/2020 16:18

I prefer Mariella.
Beatrice is a fab name Wink

emmathedilemma · 28/08/2020 16:56

I love Alice, can you not convert him??

TurquoiseDress · 28/08/2020 17:25

I love the Beatrice & Charlotte combo!
