Does anyone know if this if still due to be released in August or has it been delayed?

The only reliable information comes from the Office of National Statistics website. That says
"Next release: August to September 2020 (provisional)"

refernce for that quote:

Fab, so it is still on time then.

Yes that's what I thought too @florascotia2 but @Sunshines123 is right, it says Wednesday on a different page

Hooray! I was wondering whether this would have been delayed. I look forward to the new list coming out every year.

FluffyEggsontoast · 25/08/2020 19:06

Exciting (realise how sad I sound, and embracing it)

PlantPotting · 26/08/2020 09:37

ONS names seem to have been released but I can't find where to see a simple list of the names rather than discussions about trends this year

Beachbodylonggone · 26/08/2020 09:42

Oops I read this as One Night Stand baby names 2019!!
Blush

Cbeebiesrehab · 26/08/2020 09:55

Yep the lists are out!

Thymeout · 26/08/2020 10:27

Just heard it on LBC. Oliver and Olivia at No 1. Freya and Lily now in top 10 girls' names. No change in boys' top 10.

ZoyaTheDestroyer · 26/08/2020 11:20

Ahhh it's like Christmas!

Just reading the main points on the bulletin.

  • Alfred, Chester, Hudson, Ibrahim and Oakley entered the 2019 top 100 boys’ names replacing Alex, Dexter, Dominic, Kai, Sonny and Tobias.
  • Lara and Mabel replaced Aisha and Francesca in the top 100 girls’ names; Mabel has not been in the top 100 since 1924.
  • Freya and Lily entered the top 10 replacing Ella and Emily. No new entries to the boys' top ten.
ZoyaTheDestroyer · 26/08/2020 11:22

Highest climbers - Tommy (that's a surprise), climbing 24 places to 26. Hallie rose 21 places to 58th.

Big fall for Matthew, which dropped by 17 places and is now 99th. If it drops out of the top 100 next year it will be the first time since 1954. Poor Matthew.

PlantPotting · 26/08/2020 11:33

Really interesting summaries. Keep them coming

I'm not surprised about Emily, not met a baby Emily in years. Such a lovely name

zigaziga · 26/08/2020 12:06

Arabella climbing high (not a surprise as it seems everywhere)!

JaffaCakeGal · 26/08/2020 12:24

Is there an actual list somewhere? All I found was a spreadsheet with all the top names back to 1904!

JaffaCakeGal · 26/08/2020 12:25

Never mind - I didn't click the link above, d'oh!

ILoveStickers · 26/08/2020 15:19

Ooh, the top names in each district is AWESOME. I love how much variation there is!

I had a baby in 2019, so I have an extra stake in it this year. Grin

Natt99 · 26/08/2020 15:56

On BBC news it says Dua (as in Dua Lipa) doubled and Kylo (Ren) was also popular

DoTheMaccaroni · 26/08/2020 16:32

In 2017 & 18 there were 5 and then 4 girls with my daughters name but there year there must be 2 or less cause it’s not on the list! Grin (it’s not a yoonique name, just very rare!)

DoTheMaccaroni · 26/08/2020 16:32

this year I meant

junebug87 · 26/08/2020 16:43

Is there a link to this?

Lebkuchenlove · 26/08/2020 16:52

30 boys with my ds's name born last year.

Adelais · 26/08/2020 21:49

Dd2s name has fallen, only 35 babies with her name last year.

Not suprised Arthur is so high, I hear it everywhere.
