So tonight out of no where came Sophia/Sofia Matilda.

Just throwing it out their to the mumsnet community for your opinions (both positive and negative opinions welcome!).
What do you think of Sophia/Sofia Matilda?
Which spelling? Sophia or Sofia? We have links to Spain if that helps.

I always preferred Sophia, but your Spanish links suggest Sofia might be better, especially if you have a Spanish name. The first thing I thought when I saw Sofia Matilda is that it sounds like a German empress. I really like both.

I prefer Sofia. It's look more gentle and prettier.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 10/08/2020 21:58

It looks.

Sofia

DaisyChainsForever · 10/08/2020 22:26

I'm not keen if you mean a double barrelled 1st name, but as a 1st and middle name it's lovely.

MyPetPegasus · 10/08/2020 22:37

I like both!

123Dancewithme · 10/08/2020 22:38

Marlena1 · 10/08/2020 22:40

I went with the ph as have no Spanish connection but if I did I mighta tried to pull off the f

Yankathebear · 10/08/2020 22:44

I say them differently.
To me Sophia is said Sew fire and Sofia is Sew fear.
Possibly because of the Sofia’s/Sophia’s that I know? Or my accent?

MyPetPegasus · 10/08/2020 22:44

I pronounce both Sow-fee-ah.

Yankathebear · 10/08/2020 22:46

I forgot the ah on both!

hellotoday27 · 10/08/2020 22:55

I like Sofia and with the Spanish connection it makes sense. Love Matilda too

Palavah · 10/08/2020 23:20

Ellmau · 11/08/2020 08:41

Sofia bc of the Spanish heritage.

Lovely combination.

Beautiful combination of names.

I like both spellings of Sophia/Sofia, but as you have Spanish connections that would sway me towards Sofia.
