Me and DW are opting for Franklin for DS1, shortened to Frankie when small, and Frank when more grown up. However, we would like to know which of these middle names mumsnetters like the best:

Franklin Charles Ovens
Franklin George Ovens
Franklin James Ovens
Franklin Joseph Ovens
Franklin Alexander Ovens

Thanks Smile

I really like Franklin James.

Any of them! All are good. However, I like Joseph - it's got a softer edge which is good against Franklin, the more super-trad George, James, Charles sound very very stuffy put with Franklin. As if he is an 18th century lord.

@bluemoon2468 congratulations! Franklin is a good choice of name IMO.

@FizzyGreenWater I think that’s a good point you made. However IMO I think James has a soft edge also, particularly compared to George or Charles with the hard “r” sound.
