It's an anonymous forum... It's hardly asking for outing information.

No, but you can do advanced searches. If you recognised a sibset pair or an unusual name, then did an advanced search, you might find from previous posts that the poster is a teacher who went to the University of Bath, divorced last year etc etc. This information may then confirm that you know the poster in real life. People have been identified in real life by their Mumsnet crumb trails.

I don't have a daughter but of baby girls I know born this year, there are two Florences, two Arabellas and two Pippas! Funny how they've all been repeated! If I had had a daughter I love the name Celeste but DH prefers Penelope or Isobel, so one of those.

Exactly - @Ducky1900you've left enough information in your posts that would identify you to someone who knows you. You can then post something confidential, something you're mulling over in your mind and said friend/acquaintance would know all that too...

Thank you @Whatsyourflava.
We liked the names and felt they wouldn't date, and didn't realise that they would be so popular. I still love the names, and they do too.
Alice was also on the list, but wouldn't have suited either of them.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 07/08/2020 20:10

As others have said, I don’t feel comfortable posting my DD and DD to be’s names on here so I will just post a list of names I love:

Eleanor
Louise
Merida
Kara
Aoife
Rey
Emma

Rachel247 · 07/08/2020 21:01

I think if you’re that concerned that posting your daughter’s name might ‘out’ you you might have to question what other information you’re sharing. I’ve given my daughters and sons name before, I have no issue if someone in my ‘real’ life identifies me as all I use the site for is to satisfy my name obsession. People are rude on here-whether they feel it’s justified or not.

Cbeebiesrehab · 08/08/2020 16:12

And taking the piss out of someone just because they said ‘girlies’ is just unkind. Screams mean girls.

eatsleepbreastfeedrepeat · 08/08/2020 17:57

Callie and Briar

I also have a niece called Avery

I don't care if you use the term girlies. Mine is Beth & we also have Pipsquine Linguine but she's a dogGrin
