Hey everyone,

This could be a last minute panic combined with too much time to think on mat leave but I'm on the 4 week countdown to meet our baby girl and still unsure about our baby names!! We haven't told anyone the names yet so would love to hear other people's thoughts on them.. the final three are:

Madeleine Grace
Robyn June
Isla Grace

Trying not to add anymore to the list as I now seem to like a new name each day!

Thanks x

Madeline Grace would be my first choice but they are all lovely. I can see why you're struggling to pick!

  • Madeleine

They're all lovely. My order would be Madeleine/Isla/Robyn.

Why not wait until she's born? Sometimes they suit one more.

Good luck.

I'm 6 weeks away from my EDD and we're in exactly the same situation. We used o ur 2nd girls name as my dd1's middle name! 🤦🏻‍♀️

My preference would be Madeleine Grace followed by Isla and then Robyn.

Are you happy for your daughter to be called Maddie? I'm a teacher and have taught lots of Maddie's but never come across a Madeleine who uses her full name.

Congratulations and good luck!!

Love Isla and Robyn
Madeleine will most likely be Maddie to her friends. I don't really like the "mad" bit

yikesanotherbooboo · 30/07/2020 07:23

I'm not keen on Isla but love Robyn and Madeleine ( I agree Maddie v likely). I prefer June as a middle name .

Bumblingalong30s · 30/07/2020 07:46

Robyn June. Robyn is a sweet name and not used as much as the others. Also then you can have robin pictures to decorate her things/show her robins in the winter.

Hortensien · 30/07/2020 07:55

I prefer Robyn.

Madeleine sounds beautiful in French but not in English, with the emphasis on MAD.

MrsGilly1 · 30/07/2020 08:19

Madeleine Grace X

Beautiful 😍 X

PurBal · 30/07/2020 08:19

Madeline.

Heh1991 · 30/07/2020 08:21

Madeleine Grace is my favourite- so lovely! Xx

Christmastree43 · 30/07/2020 08:24

Robyn is lovely

JacquelineLadyBugg · 30/07/2020 08:37

Robyn June is my favourite by a country mile! It's absolutely gorgeous.

That said, DH and I were discussing baby names right until both our dcs were born. We were more or less settled on names, but we decided last minute. With dc2, we were down to two names and waited to see what he looked like before choosing between the two. Some people take a good week after the birth to decide. It's fine not to know at this stage Smile.

ButterflyOfFreedom · 30/07/2020 08:38

Robyn!

Ahh thank you so much for all your thoughts everyone.. it's really helped me decide now so much appreciated Smile

I love Isla Grace, I think it sounds so cute!

wibdib · 30/07/2020 11:04

Op you have plenty of time - weeks before she arrives and weeks after!

When ds was born we took until at least 3 weeks after he was born to decide his first name and we ere still discussing his second name walking up the path to the registrar for our appointment to register him. That is cutting it fine ConfusedGrin.

To this day I still have no idea how or why we ended up with his middle name but dh is happy and likes it and ds2 seems to like it so it’s all ok. (And I just have to hope ds2 doesn’t want to know where his middle name comes from!

newmum332 · 30/07/2020 11:04

I like Madeleine best then Isla. Not keen on Robyn.
I know a Madeleine who has never been known as Maddie in her life and she’s about 22 now.

Exciting! Can we ask what you've settled on pretty please?

I love a baby name thread where the baby gets a name! And all of your choices are lovely, so can't lose!

SadSack39 · 30/07/2020 11:37

I wouldnt rush and regret it, i didnt name my baby until he was a few weeks old as I couldn't decide Grin

newbie2003 · 30/07/2020 17:33

I think we'll go with Madeleine Grace as it's always been my favourite and I always wanted a little girl with that name! I like Maddie as a nickname too so seems to be the one... now to work on hubby... Wink

Gorgeous op! Great choice Smile.

Anappleaday1 · 30/07/2020 21:25

What a lovely list, I don't think you can go wrong with any of those! Sorry that's not very helpful. So, if I had to choose then Robyn.

Alwaysundecided · 30/07/2020 22:43

Madeleine Grace is lovely
