Boys name; none feel right

We seem to be quite fussy with names and I'm really feeling the pressure of giving a 'good' name to our son. (Due in a couple of months)

Like alot of people we want something familiar but also that won't be 1 of multiples in the classroom/workplace....

He has Lorcan as an older brother.

Some names I've been circling around are;

Heath, Fabien, Jude, Quentin, Benedict, Hector, Aidan, Ryan, Vincent, Ronan, Tobias, Arthur, Micah, Orson, Danny, Jasper, Curtis, Finbar

For various reasons I'm just not convinced on any of these Confused

We are based in England but have Irish and some French family so have been keeping that in mind.

What are your thoughts?

Jacobi
Elias
Spencer
Malachi

Oisin immediately sprang to my mind like a few PPs but I’m not sure if having 2 children with an
-an name is a bit jarring.

How about Connell?

I like most of your list, especially Ronan, Quentin, Orson and Finbar.

I don't like Jude, Ryan and Danny

I also like the suggestions of Reuben and Caspar?

Whatsyourflava · 28/07/2020 15:14

You have a nice list @Mummymug

I love Jasper. Ronan is alright but I'd personally avoid as it's so similar to fastest rising boy name Roman with an M. I've spotted it already in this thread that someone has read RoNan as RoMan. Given you said you don't want a name where there's likely to be a few in class you might want to avoid, as they'll probably be at least one Roman in the class or Rohan and I know baby girl Rowan and Roan- all very trendy.

How about Barnaby ? Names like Peter are very rare these days.

I like the suggestion of Tristan

How about Sidney or just Sid?
Laurence nn Laurie?
Eli or Ellis I really love
Christopher nn Kit

I love a few on your list and Lorca is lovely.

As mum to a cool 18 year old Aidan it would be my choice!

Hortensien · 29/07/2020 13:50

I like the suggestions of Fabian, Quentin and Reuben.

I'd avoid Benedict as the one I knew got teased with Bendy Dick Blush

My boys are called Benjamin, Mckenzie and Christopher.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 30/07/2020 02:22

I think Vincent or Quentin work well.

Orson really doesn't go with Lorcan, they are too similar.

teaflake · 30/07/2020 03:01

How about Artur? I love the French pronunciation.
