I love Vinnie, but would use it as a nickname for Alvin as I don't love the name Vincent.

Roseburn · 24/07/2020 16:54

Vincent is a great name.

Lollypop4 · 24/07/2020 17:13

No , Im not keen at all!

Linny88 · 25/07/2020 21:56

Absolutely love it and have only met lovely little boys called Vinnie/Vincent. I also think it’s great that it can sound more adult as Vince when they’re older. I would have used it myself if it hadn’t been vetoed

chillandrelax · 25/07/2020 21:57

Yes!

missmouse101 · 25/07/2020 21:59

Very aggressive sounding name.

MrsSiriusBlack1 · 25/07/2020 22:01

No

cosycatsocks · 25/07/2020 22:01

Yes, great name

XiCi · 25/07/2020 22:06

I like the name. Have to say though that all the Vinnies I know (only 3 of them so may not be representative) have been complete nutters.

Coromandine · 25/07/2020 22:07

I like it.

MissSarahThane · 25/07/2020 22:10

Starry, starry night
Paint your palette blue and grey
Look out on a summer's day
With eyes that know the darkness in my soul....

But I agree Vince/Vinnie sounds like a gangster. Or a footballer.

daisypond · 25/07/2020 22:13

I like Vincent a lot. I know a fab 22-year-old one. It’s a great name. But Vinnie is not. It has a completely different mage, not one I’d want for my child.

nitsandwormsdodger · 25/07/2020 22:15

Horrible name but who cares what I think? Cal your kid what you like
Why do people want to please others with their kids names ?
I dislike everyone else's name choices

Candyflosscookie · 25/07/2020 22:20

Vincent is a good strong name but always makes me think of Vincent Van Gogh which always makes me so sad. So for me it's a name associated with a troubled life.

The only Vinnie I know of is that twatty pretend "hard man" footballer Jones. So again not the best association for me.

But all babies become their names so if you love it use it.

willowtree81 · 25/07/2020 22:28

I love it. We have a very dear Uncle Vince (sometimes called Vin too) he's one of the loveliest and happiest and coolest people I know, despite being in his 70's. I would definitely use it!

Allmyeye · 25/07/2020 22:34

I always think of Vincent:/Vinnie as being a hard man/thuggish name. Sorry.

Shelley54 · 25/07/2020 22:38

No. I work with two men called Vincent and they're both tossers. I would avoid it like the plague.

resm · 25/07/2020 23:17

Love the name Vincent, and also Vince as a surname but can’t stand Vinnie for some reason.

resm · 25/07/2020 23:18

*nickname

MrsGilly1 · 26/07/2020 10:57

Not a fan X

Marcipex · 26/07/2020 11:26

Sorry but no, I detest this name.
Vincent is a Hyacinth Bucket trytobeposh name, and Vinnie is a burglar.

Mrsjayy · 26/07/2020 11:28

Vinnie is a burglar Grin

Thisismytimetoshine · 26/07/2020 11:28

I love it.

PoodleMoth · 28/07/2020 21:42

Yes! Like Vince as a nn but not keen on Vinnie

cordeliae · 02/08/2020 08:21
