Sullivan Xavier Anderson- Too much??

Me and my DH can’t seem to agree on names with us both wanting what seems like the opposite of each other but we have finally agreed on a name!
Sullivan - can be shortened to Sully if I can convince my DH
Xaver - My DH’s favourite name
Anderson - My DH’s Surname
Is it a bit too much though??

Also, Xavier pronounced the original way, ie hav-ee-ay?

That might be the "original" way in Spanish-speaking countries but it's normally zay-vee-er in the UK.

I don’t think the length of the name is a problem, as middle names are so rarely used. But I’m afraid I do agree with PPs that the repetition of the ‘un’ sound at the end of both Sullivan and Anderson is not good.

Seems to me that the only people that would bully a child for a name are adults that should know better...

I'd go for Xavier Anderson which I think is much better. Perhaps make Sullivan the middle name but I'd go for a shorter middle name ideally

he'd be called sally annie, which is not nice or cute.
also to sully one's name means to bring it into disrepute.
please, think of the child, who will have to bear it long after you have gone. sorry to say that, but it's true. unless he goes to the trouble and poss emotional angst of officially changing it, which would cause problems with having to explain school certificates, so he'd never get away from it.

My Sullivan isn't called anything except Sully, Van or Sullivan. He prefers Sully. Not once has he ever come home and complained that friends have taken the piss out of his name.
I can't fathom how folk think that because a child is named something that other kids will automatically come up with some weird rhyming insult.

People (and here it seems to be adults because I don't see any kids on here) love to project their own feelings and/or insecurities on to a name.

I don't think I'll find my Sullivan growing up wanting to change his name because thankfully he's living in a country where names aren't mocked or ridiculed.

It seems to be only the UK that has this strange obsession with how names sound (chavvy, posh, try hard), whereas nobody else really cares.

I've not seen this name before and I like it. It all sounds ok to me. Its unusual but not daft.

I can't abide all these bible names though, so many Noahs and Isiahs, I think they are just plain weird unless you are actually Jewish.

I really like Sullivan (nn Sully) as a boy's name (and did suggest it to DH but got shot down) however I don't really think it goes with your surname I'm afraid.

What @HarrietM87 said. Also, Sully as a nickname for someone with the surname Sullivan is one of those naff trad nicknames like Jonesy or Giggsy.
