Too popular?

Is May too popular? I know it's used a lot as a middle name but do you know many little May's? I love it as a stand alone name.

Love it

I absolutely love May as a first name and I so rarely see it suggested on here. It's simple yet it stands out, it's timeless and classic, and it's just beautiful. I've never met anyone called May. Go for it!

I don't know of any of any age!

I know a two year old May.

As long as it's not double barrelled as mentioned above, fine

May is lovely.

As a middle name, yes, sadly overused. First name, no way! I work with children and I've never come across a little May. Use it ! Grin

Thank you all, I adore it. DH's still not massively keen (booohooo 😩)

It's amusing that people are talking about 'classy' names, but then go on to slag off children's names, which really isn't classy - at all. You may not like May (whichever spelling) used as a hyphenated or middle name, but to call it ghastly or tacky just because it isn't to your taste is snobbish beyond belief. I really hope your little darlings grow up to be kinder people than some of you are. There is so much more to class than just a name. Some fairly disgusting attitudes in here.
