Most of your girls names aren't girls names. Some of them are bizarre.

Harper
Ezmé - Spelt properly Esme
Nova

Jude
Declan
Brody
Dexter
Fletcher
Heath
Dominic
Luca

userabcname · 13/07/2020 18:37

Harper and Dexter

FatherBrownsBicycle · 13/07/2020 18:38

Esme
Heath

AccountAntsy · 13/07/2020 18:38

I’d only consider Piper from the girl list and Dominic or Jude from the boy list.

DramaAlpaca · 13/07/2020 18:41

Most of those names you have listed for girls belong in the list for boys Confused

I only like Dominic and Jude from the whole lot.

Wheresthebiffer2 · 13/07/2020 18:43

Your lists appear to be muddled. Those are not Girl/Boy lists, they are mixed. Did you mean to have one unisex list? Or were you actually considering calling your daughter Dylan or Iver or Arlo?

BewareTheBeardedDragon · 13/07/2020 18:43

Girls: Piper, Harper, Esme

Boys: Jude, Dominic, Luca

Skye and Chase are very popular and highly merchandised Paw Patrol characters - in case you didn't know.

holdthephonio · 13/07/2020 18:45

SingleHandSue · 13/07/2020 18:45

Your girls’ list is very, um, eclectic.

Esme (spelt correctly) or Nova are nice however.

From your boys’ list I like Heath, Dominic or Luca.

CatRamsey · 13/07/2020 18:49

Ignore the posters who don't realise that some names can actually be used on the opposite gender. I've heard of girls named Dylan, Hunter Parker, and James before.

My favourites from your list are Piper, Harper, and Nova.

Chase, Cruz, Luca had Fletcher are great from your boys list.

Creamcar · 13/07/2020 18:54

I couldn’t find a girl’s name I liked in your list I’m afraid. Several of them are just boys names.

From the boys list,
Jude
Dominic
are both lovely.

MikeUniformMike · 13/07/2020 18:55

Girls
Hunter - no.
Piper - no. She'll be Pipes
James - no. Boy's name
Brette - no. Weird
Brit - Britt?
Dylan - No. I don't even like it for a boy.
Arlo - No. I don't even like it for a boy.
Harper - No. Beckham.
Parker - No.
Ezmé - Esme or Esmeé
Ryan - No. I don't even like it for a boy.
Skye - ok
Sydney - ok
Nova - No. Small 1980s hatchback
Indra - Not keen
Iver - No. Will she have been conceived in a village near Slough?

Boys
Cruz - girl's name
Slade - H.M.P Slade
Jude - Don't like it
Rhett - Gone with the wind, I hope
Dux - No
Declan - Like
Chase - No
Tripp - No
Brody - No
Dexter - No
Fletcher - no.
Heath - ok
Bryce - ok
Dominic - only if you don't mind Dom
Luca - Lucas or Luke are much classier

missyB1 · 13/07/2020 19:01

The only girls name from your list I like is Sydney and the only boys one is Jude.

geojojo · 13/07/2020 19:02

I love Esme and Nova and Jude and Luca.

mintich · 13/07/2020 19:04

Girl - Piper
Boy - Declan

Although they arent my style of names, I like those the best

Orphlids · 13/07/2020 19:14

I love Britt for a girl (prefer this spelling). Sharp, unfrilly, clean, strong. Fabulous.

I quite like Jude and Heath from your boys’ list. Although given your taste, I wonder if you might regret Jude as it seems a little mundane compared to your other choices. And I think I’d go for Heathcliff rather than Heath - you could always shorten it as a NN. But Heathcliff is just slightly more bonkers, which appeals to me.

cptartapp · 13/07/2020 19:25

Eight of your girl's list should be in the boys. Some strange choices.
That aside I like Dominic. None of the others.

Cotswoldmama · 13/07/2020 19:31

I like the boyish girls names. Not really a fan of Esme of Nova they've become a bit too popular for me but then I like more unusual names. I'd go for whatever you and your partner like and not worry about anyone else.

iwontfloaaatt · 13/07/2020 19:31

I like Skye and Jude, but that's it. I assume you're American? Most of the names on your girls list are strictly boys names in the UK.

blackeyebags · 13/07/2020 19:34

Wow so many replies! Lots of food for thought, thank you all.

We quite like unisex type names. I am South African so names are a bit different there..

OP posts:
AdaColeman · 13/07/2020 19:41

Tripp for a girl and Skye for a boy.

VenusClapTrap · 13/07/2020 20:17

I like Jude, but that’s about it from that lot.

newmum332 · 13/07/2020 20:34

I know girl James and Ryan, both have parents from the States though and they seem to work. Not keen on any of your other girl names.
From your boys list Jude , Luca and at a push Fletcher.

BackforGood · 13/07/2020 20:51

Well, in the UK, several of the names you have listed for girls, are not girls names.

I mean, none of the names on either of your lists are to my taste, and obviously that's fine, indeed, good that people have different tastes, but, I hope it helps that people are sharing with you how the names will be perceived.

daisypond · 13/07/2020 21:17

Skye or, at a push, Piper for girls.

Declan, Jude, Dominic, Dexter, Fletcher, Heath for boys.
