Name my daughter!

I have a baby girl on the way and there is not a single name I adore. With my son, the decision was so easy - Ezra - and he suits it perfectly. I’d like something easy to spell/say, that “goes with” Ezra, and ideally not too girly/popular (Sophia, Olivia, Ava, Ivy, Emily, Poppy, Isabel etc)

Names on the list:
Ruby
Gabrielle (would 100% call a second boy Gabriel)
Imogen
Theodora
Honor
Remi
Athena
Naomi
Amara
Maia/Maya

The only one I think I can be almost sure I won't regret is Ruby - but not sure it feels like “the one” (and is also more popular than I’d like). Any critique or suggestions welcome and appreciated!

I think Remi/Remy might be a boys' name.
Love Athena and Theodora

Pinkypink · 27/06/2020 20:22

I love Gabrielle.
Also love Ruby, Maya and Honor.
Love Thea, but on its own. Less keen on Theodora.

Miriam and Imogen both go nicely with Ezra

OhioOhioOhio · 27/06/2020 20:28

Ezra and Xante

speedygo · 27/06/2020 20:29

Naomi would go beautiful with Ezra. It usually works if you say the names together like you're introducing your children "oh meet my DC they are Ezra and __"

That way you can kind of imagine what the rest of your life would be like and if they sound good together, etc. It's worked for me before

PatsyStone39 · 27/06/2020 20:34

Our son is Gabriel and if he was a girl he would have been Amara.

Other names we had were, Dahlia, Amalia, Kora, Anais and Aesara.

Nadine
Nora
Aster

I think Naomi or Imogen would be brilliant choices. Imogen could be Mo for short and I think Ezra and Mo make a great pair. The suggestion by a PP of Miriam is brilliant too.

Maya is very popular so I'd avoid!!!
I really like Ruby. I love Athena - gorgeous name and the one I would go for from your list.

BrutusMcDogface · 27/06/2020 20:49

Tough choice, great names! I agree with Naomi or Gabrielle Smile

ladymary86 · 27/06/2020 20:50

Naomi is a beautiful name!

Flappingflamingo · 27/06/2020 20:53

Out of your list I love Imogen and gabrielle, not keen on the others sorry

PurBal · 27/06/2020 20:53

Erica or Erin?

PurBal · 27/06/2020 20:54

But from your list I live Naomi

mdh2020 · 27/06/2020 20:54

Wait till she is born and you see her. My daughter in law said they had three names and when they saw their daughter they immediately knew which was the one (8 years later I love my GD but still don’t like her name)

LuxLuxLux84 · 27/06/2020 20:57

Athena only Works If the child has Greek blood otherwise sounds very odd. Ditto when people call babies with no French blood names like Elodie or Clothilde.

LuxLuxLux84 · 27/06/2020 20:57

Naomi is gorgeous she without fault.

DramaAlpaca · 27/06/2020 21:00

From your list, Ruby or Naomi.

Destroyedpeople · 27/06/2020 21:03

'Athena only works if the child has Greek blood'..
What arrant nonsense....so what about all the other Greek names? Penelope? Hermione?Pandora? Chloe? Zoe?
Do they nor 'work' either?

AntiHop · 27/06/2020 21:03

Naomi or Athena. Both classic but not much used at the moment.

resm · 27/06/2020 21:24

I think Hazel goes with Ezra.
