We like classic style names for boys that are known but rarely used. Teachers, and all Mumsnetters, can you help with some suggestions that you've rarely heard of please but still have the same qualities as names like:

William
Edward
Elliot
Gabriel
Thomas
Alexander

... but hopefully less popular.

@MyNameHasBeenTaken

Probably new testament type names? Mark John Matthew Peter Paul Michael Simon Steven Luke Scott Ross Vincent Charles/charlie
This. I have never taught a Peter despite there being 2 in my form. Don't think I've taught more than one Adam either. Joseph relatively rare too, and no Jonathan's either. Timothy is practically extinct.

I have a lot of Elliots and I teach at least 1 Tom or Thomas in each of my classes except 1.
Matthew, Noah and Sam are also super popular in my school. My year 11 class has 5 Sams and 5 Alexes!

As a primary school teacher, the names that you have written aren’t actually that popular with the exception of Alexander.
It tends to be the shortened versions of your naming style - that are used as full names - that are what seem to be very popular.
For example:
Albie
Archie
Alfie
Tommy

Using a full ‘traditional’ name isn’t too popular at all, that’s just from my experience.
However I will also answer your question
I think Sebastian, Jonah, Wilfred, Stanley might all fit ive only ever come across one of each of those.

Henry is one of the most popular names at my school. Charles will become Charlie and there are loads of them too.
Names I haven't heard much: John (Jonathon shortened to Johnny is fairly popular though), Jeremy, Julian, Marcus, Robin, Peter (although I see it mentioned on here quite a bit so may be increasing in popularity), Robert, Timothy, Alec, Emmett, Simon.
