Lucas James is by far the best.

Lucas Carter is the worst choice I think - too many hard 'c' sounds too close together. And Carter is not nice for a given name anyway. I just picture some downtrodden peasant wheeling his ramshackle wooden cart along a muddy track...

I like Lucas Carter and Lucas James best.

I actually disagree with pp about needing a vowel, I think it sounds better with a consonant and don;t like the sound of Lucas Oscar and Lucas Austin, although it may be the 2 s sounds that I don't like
