I would cross Pippa off that list as it has a wide variety of very rude meanings in a variety of European languages from 'cunt' in Polish to 'blowjob' in 'Italian with others in between.

@Destroyedpeople interesting take on the name, I liked it due to family meaning and very brief Catholic italian links, but agree also its not my favourite

FYI for anyone reading I'm unhappy with the UK politics and just general living and unless something changes I will be moving to another European, Australian, New Zealand, Canadian country ect, not keen on American but potentially florida or alaska x

I like -
Rosalie
Celeste
India
Esme (not so sure about Esmerelda)
Margaux
Estella (or Estelle)

I don't much like -
Daphne
Enya

Also I like Julia, but not Giullia

mathanxiety · 07/06/2020 04:26

First names only -
Della - lovely, like it a lot
Enya - love, also love traditional Irish spelling Eithne
Esmerelda (Esme) - Esme is a different name. Esmerelda strikes me as a pantomime name. Esme is nice.
India - lovely, like it a lot
Pippa - meh

      • Enya, Della, India, Esme but not Esmerelda.

First or middle names:
Emilie - nice but maybe a bit boring
Estella - like it but prefer Stella or Estelle
Rosalie - love
Giulia - love
Margaux - lovely, like it a lot
Daphne - love
Celeste - meh (reminds me of the Babar stories and while I love elephants, maybe steer clear for a person)

  • - -> Giulia, Daphne, Rosalie, Margaux

Middle name only?
Marie - I assume this is the middle name option? If so, perfectly innocuous.

Aclh13 · 07/06/2020 05:02

@mathanxiety agree mostly with the first part of your list we have fairly close taste. I loved emilie/Emily because my mum is Emma, I loved Marie because it's a family/hereditary middle name. Also a close favourite was Daphne.
My last name is Hogan my partners is Mag-E*-I' (three syllabals). If using my name another name would be Hollie x

What about Stella?

My favourite from your list is Celeste. I also like Margot but not Margaux for some reason, but there seem to be lots of little Margots around now.

Tillygetsit · 07/06/2020 22:55

Rosalie Celeste would be my choice. So pretty.

DoctorBambino · 08/06/2020 09:45

Della - really dont like it
Emilie - like as a middle name
