Names that go with Georgina as a middle name.

I have suddenly decided I love the name Georgina but don’t want it as a first name as we don’t like the shortenings. Our first choice of girls name is Isabelle and we also would like to put Mary as a middle name but all 3 together sound long and a mouthful. So any suggestions? Unless we just have Georgina Mary and hope it doesn’t get shortened?

How many syllables for the surname? If two then having a four syllable middle name would have a nice rhythm to it like Georgina Felicity - - .

Oh I didn't read your post properly, sorry!

Isabelle Georgina Mary sounds nice. You could hyphenate Georgina-Mary to make them less likely to be shortened, if you liked.

Isabelle Georgina or Georgina Mary sound good. I actually think George or Gina are some of the better, less twee (ily or ie endings) as nick names go personally

I don't see why you want 3 names? Is there some family importance to the names?

I agree the three don't work together unless you shorten Isabella to 'Bella'

Mary Bella Georgina?

There are two syllables to the surname, I’m just conscious of how many letters there are in Isabelle Georgina Mary although Georgina Mary on it’s own is growing on me..... it’s so hard!

I think Georgina Mary is lovely on it's own, too. Is it Georgie you dislike as a nickname? You could discourage this by asking for her to be called her full name by teachers, or encouraging a different nickname (eg, as PP said, Gina or George)

I dislike all the nicknames of Georgina but Georgie is my favourite out of all of them. Mary is a family name and my mum loved the name Georgina and Isabelle. It’s one of the few things I remember about her. So I want to choose something I know that she would have liked Smile

I know an Anna Georgina which is nice

I know a Georgina who is always known as George. I didn't actually know her name was Georgina for years. She rocks the nn, it's really unusual where we are. Some people call her Georgie but she doesn't like it as much

sweetnosugar · 01/06/2020 11:54

Georgina always gets shortened. Ge, George, Gina, Georgie.. if you really don’t want that I’d avoid it as a first name. I vetoed many baby names for that reason!
Isabelle Georgina works well could you just not go with that?
Otherwise Isabelle Georgina Mary does work. Having two middle names isn’t uncommon at all, many people have long names. In school your child will more than likely only use their first and last name, middle names are rarely used!

Thank you for all your help! I’m definitely putting Georgina on the list somewhere. I think the problem is there are so many beautiful girls names. I love names that end in an a or a y but OH doesn’t ..... sigh

Isabelle Mary Georgina flows nicely.

Enough4me · 01/06/2020 23:47

Maria Georgina

Aclh13 · 02/06/2020 03:49

I'd rather have Georgina Mary than Isabelle Mary, Isabelle is so common and boring. Have you considered Georgiana?

StartupRepair · 02/06/2020 03:52

Mary Georgina is nice.
