Surname the same as an aging American rock singer, heavy on the eyeliner (they couldn’t call her Alice)

Middle name Jane

(Not for me)

Thanks in advance

I prefer Ruby but Lola goes better with the surname.

Destroyedpeople · 27/05/2020 18:16

Ruby.
Can't get past Lola being a showgirl or a transvestite sorry.

Destroyedpeople · 27/05/2020 18:17

Or Being short for Dolores Haze

Ingridla · 27/05/2020 18:17

Both nice but I guess Ruby wins

DramaAlpaca · 27/05/2020 22:46

Ruby

SandieCheeks · 27/05/2020 22:49

Ruby and Lola both seem to be really common names for pets at the moment, especially staffies.

NietzschePeachPearPlum · 28/05/2020 01:00

Ruby.
Lola is awful.

Aclh13 · 28/05/2020 03:29

They're both quite 'common' as my nan would say, but Ruby is the better of the two

Changedname81 · 28/05/2020 09:21

The only other name liked is Delilah...?

Thanks for your comments thus far

Delilah is much nicer than Ruby and Lola imo!

nekaTemanresU · 28/05/2020 14:18

Delilah is my favourite! I still do love Lola though.

mamablondie2 · 28/05/2020 14:49

I like both. There are some really outdated views on here (sorry). I really don’t think anyone will be thinking of strippers or the Kinks, her peers certainly won’t be!

They’re similar in appeal - shirt and a big edgy, not overly frilly like so many names right now. I prefer Ruby as I love the precious connotations but that’s a personal preference x

mamablondie2 · 28/05/2020 14:50

*short that was meant to say OP!

Changedname81 · 28/05/2020 14:55

There is a small part of me which wants to say:
“So ?!?- what’s wrong with transvestites / showgirls” etc. I have nothing against either of those groups of people... the way people go on they should be lumped with criminals and politicians Wink

But then I reign myself back in and remember it’s not even my child Smile

Think Delilah is mor popular then Lola. so if you want ger to be the only one in the class with the name then go for Lola, but I prefer Ruby. (and it,sthe only one with out bad conitations)

Starlight39 · 28/05/2020 14:59

Ruby is lovely!

Yearcat13 · 28/05/2020 15:01

Too ma y Lolas. Ruby.

loutypips · 28/05/2020 15:02

Lola is short for Dolores which means pain in Spanish. I'd go for Ruby.

seriousandloyal · 28/05/2020 15:04

Ruby

BeMorePacific · 28/05/2020 15:36

I love Lola, and know a couple of Lola’s. They have cool parents.. go for it x

daisypond · 28/05/2020 19:05

Lola Ruby AND Delilah are all really lovely!! Some of my favourite names and I disagree strongly with the stripper comments. Each to their own. I turn my nose up at names like Storm and hyphenated names. Not Lola. I love it - beautiful sound to it and love the way the letters look written down. Ruby is also lovely and Delilah has excellent nickname potential @Changedname81

Carouselfish · 29/05/2020 22:33

Ruby.
