Is it boring or old fashioned?

It's my absolute favourite name, short, neat, timeless, classic and in constant use since medieval times so has lots of history to it. I just love it. I had boys so didn't get to use it.

DuchessOfSofa · 17/05/2020 22:58

I like it. I can see why some people think it's a bit boring but it is very pretty. Like Anna, it hasn't got enough ''omg, that's original'' about it for some people but it is beautiful.

Malysh · 17/05/2020 23:01

Personally I find it boring but if you love it, go for it.

TokyoSushi · 17/05/2020 23:01

Fabulous Wink

SpillTheTeaa · 17/05/2020 23:03

Not for me personally. But I always remember this little girl a few years back she was 3 then called Emma and she was the sweetest little thing. So cheeky and she never stopped talking! Grin

Legoandloldolls · 17/05/2020 23:05

I love it. Timeless name. My friends dd is called Emma

Haretodaygonetomorrow · 17/05/2020 23:07

Bland and boring.

macdhui · 17/05/2020 23:08

Classic

TwoKidsStillStanding · 17/05/2020 23:09

It travels really well! It’s the kind of name most Western cultures recognise and find easy to pronounce, even if it’s not a popular name in the country in question.

DennisTMenace · 17/05/2020 23:09

It is a sound combination that seems to be easily pronounced everywhere and never have to spell for people. Would avoid Jane as a middle name.

MaMaMyCorona · 17/05/2020 23:10

I think it's a bit blah. But then I was a 90's baby so there were always at least 3/4 Emily's in every class in my school, along with Kirsty, Hannah, Amber, Gemma, Katie, Paige etc

Awbu · 17/05/2020 23:10

It’s classic.

DuchessOfSofa · 17/05/2020 23:12

I love Gemma as well. I don't know a single Gemma so it can't be that popular.

Blursula · 17/05/2020 23:19

Beautiful and timeless

123Dancewithme · 17/05/2020 23:29

Classic and actually underused nowadays compared to Emilia, Amelia etc.

Whatsyourflava · 17/05/2020 23:41

ADORE IT. I agree it's so underused in my opinion. The most classic girls name there is in my eyes

SionnachRua · 17/05/2020 23:43

Kind of like Olivia, a wallpaper name. It's fine, just dull/uninteresting to me.

HungryForSnacks · 17/05/2020 23:46

I think it's lovely. Not boring at all

phoenixrosehere · 17/05/2020 23:47

Nice, but highly overused.

Lala241280 · 17/05/2020 23:48

It’s a beautiful name , I have an Emma and she is one in a million

To all the ones that don’t like it and you have a daughter what are they called

SionnachRua · 17/05/2020 23:52

I'm sure she is one in a million, still don't like the name. It's not singling out your child in any way.

I also don't see the need to get the hump and go asking about other people's children's names. That has no relevance to the thread. OP asked for opinions on one name, she's getting them.

NuffSaidSam · 17/05/2020 23:55

As Emma is quite a popular name, it's very unlikely she's one in a million.

Viviennemary · 17/05/2020 23:58

There's nothing wrong with it. But I'd say that it's had its day.

SionnachRua · 17/05/2020 23:59

Well...I did also think that Nuff 😂

Lala241280 · 18/05/2020 00:03

@NuffSaidSam @SionnachRua

Only gave my opinion on the name because it was asked for the fact you responded the way you did and didn’t give your girls names says it all really Grin
