Sibling for Ines and Eliza

I desperately need help choosing a name for baby number 3! I have identical twin daughters called Ines Matilda and Eliza Philippa and am stuck for a name for our third daughter due in June! The twins’ names we just fell in love with and their middle names are mine and my husbands mothers names. The only other names we really considered for the girls was Astrid, Hermione, Carlota and Martha but none of them are really screaming at me this time although I still love them. In terms of style of names we like names you have heard and don’t sound weird but aren’t in the top 20/30 and preferably outside the top 100. If it helps if it were a boy his name would have been Gabriel or Hugo with the middle names Frederick John (family names again!).

Any suggestions for first of middle names would be so helpful as I’m starting to panic she doesn’t have a name!!!

I'm so pleased that you like "Margot" it's the name of one of the girls in Despicable Me and also Margot Fontaine the famous ballet dancer. It has a "sauntering along the promenade in St Tropez" air about it.

Out of your list Martha is a more traditional, but the other names are a bit more international, think glamorous Bond woman. I would rate them in this order: Saskia, ,Margot, Astrid, Carlota or Beatrix.

We had all sorts of names for our DD but when she was born, they didn't suit her, so we went with a name we had earmarked as a middle name. You never 'know' until you meet them do you.

Love Astrid. It is Nordic rather than Portuguese, so a little different from the others.

RickOShay · 15/05/2020 21:43

Really like Saskia, Astrid and Beatrix.
What about
Clara

Honor

Marianne

Gisele

Lois

Vita

Stella

Allegra

Iris

Anna

Ines and Eliza are just perfect names.

I love Astrid or Martha.

3rdNamechange · 15/05/2020 22:15

Liesl ?

Pieceofpurplesky · 15/05/2020 22:18

Clara

MyMonkeyIsATwat · 15/05/2020 22:49

I like Marsha more than Martha.

Also like Jacintha and Rosa too.

Chatted to DH and we’ve decided on Astrid we think but now deciding between three different middle names. DH didn’t like lots I suggested to him and decided he doesn’t want to use Carlota as a middle name for Astrid. So, the options are:

Astrid Clara
Astrid Margot
Astrid Martha

Which do you prefer?

Definitely Margot, that was my suggestion too!

MrsCalypsoGrant · 16/05/2020 22:27

I just read through the thread & thought it has to be Astrid from your OP, was about to yell "It has to be Astrid" but I see you've got there yourselves 😉

Of your middle name choices I'd go with Clara.

WaxOnFeckOff · 16/05/2020 22:31

Yay, glad I said Astrid (although it's been on your list before) and it follows with the vowel start and S/Z sound too!

Margot or Martha for the middle.

EmMcK · 16/05/2020 22:35

Hadley or Margot.
Your daughters both have amazing names.

IckleBear · 17/05/2020 08:49

Astrid Martha

RickOShay · 17/05/2020 08:52

Good choice. I really like Astrid Carlotta though!
I think it flows, off piste but what about Astrid Valentina?

IckleBear · 17/05/2020 08:58

I've changed my mind - Astrid Margot.
I know it's not really similar but Astrid Martha I think Aston Martin.

Dontneedhomework · 17/05/2020 22:44

I would go for Astrid Martha. Second choice Astrid Clara. I don't dislike Margot but it's super popular at the moment and I think the other names fit better with Matilda and Philippa.

KittyElspeth27 · 18/05/2020 09:55

Thank you for all your help! I think we are going to go with Astrid Clara as it flows nicely with our surname and means bright which we think is really sweet.

Thank you for all of your help finalising her name!!
