Middle name will be my late mum's so that's taken, dh and I can only seem to agree on these names but can't decide between them, what to you think?

I like Penny more personally but Jessica is a good strong traditional name.

NuffSaidSam · 11/05/2020 22:18

I prefer Jessica because it has more options.

Like Penelope, but not as keen on Penny by itself.

Krazynights34 · 11/05/2020 22:32

I love both (would probably pick Penny)

SallyWD · 11/05/2020 22:33

I much prefer Penny

Marlena1 · 11/05/2020 22:34

Love both, just make sure you like Jessie

Glacierminty · 11/05/2020 22:34

Penny

Jessica

I'm not a great fan of jess/jessie Jessica I think is pretty, penny I really like just not sure it's a forever name, the middle name will be Margot.

Jessica

SallyWD · 11/05/2020 22:44

Penelope Margot is beautiful!

wondertime · 11/05/2020 22:45

Penny 💖

123Dancewithme · 11/05/2020 23:01

Penny, although I’d put Penelope on the birth certificate.

Whatsyourflava · 12/05/2020 09:09

I love both so can't help much!
If you done like the shortenings for Jessica then maybe pick Penny
I know Mumsnet tends not to agree but if you're calling her Penny just put that on the birth certificate not Penelope - it just complicates things
I say this as someone who has the shorter version on my birth certificate of a traditionally longer name and I'm very happy with it like that. Much more straightforward

Jessica Margot. Afraid I'm against the MN grain and I'm not keen on Penny, nor Penelope.

SneakersandSocks · 12/05/2020 09:41

I prefer Jessica too, I think it sounds nicer with Margot. Penny is cute but Jessica sounds ‘stronger’.

babynamelover · 12/05/2020 09:48

Penny :) but Penelope Margot for long.

sibbys · 12/05/2020 10:11

Penny!

For me Jessica is an American "girl next door" name like Jennifer, Tiffany etc.

TheVanguardSix · 12/05/2020 10:15

Penelope Margot (Penny) is beautiful.
Personally, I love the name Jessica. You never meet Jessicas in primary schools because of its previous popularity. But it is a beautiful name.

But on the whole, I really like Penelope Margot! That is a gorgeous name.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 12/05/2020 10:20

Jessica. Nothing wrong with Penny but Jessica is definitely due a revival and is one of those names that works for a baby, a child, a teenager, a grown up, an older woman. And I think Jessica Margot sounds beautiful.

Ellmau · 12/05/2020 10:38

Jessica is beautiful. Not keen on Penny.

LotusClover · 12/05/2020 10:45

Jessica will definitely get shortened to Jess so if you don't like that you should go for Penny.

Flowerpot26 · 12/05/2020 10:45

Thanks everyone, still so unsure, my little boy is called Bertie which just suits him so much, I'm finding girls names so much harder which I didn't think I would

Jenny

123Dancewithme · 12/05/2020 12:41

Penny goes better with Bertie than Jessica does.

Chinesetakeawaay · 12/05/2020 12:42

Jessica
