I'm trying to decide for a name for our baby boy, I don't know whether to go with Andrew as first name and then Noah in the middle? Or Noah as first name? Bennett is the surname I love both names Noah & Andrew but I don't know which name first. Can you help me out or give me any ideas or swap names around? Thanks.

I would go Noah Andrew x

Vslightlystressy · 11/05/2020 19:16

Nab... not the worst initials but always scope for teasing...

HT96 · 11/05/2020 19:20

I think Andrew Bennet sounds better long term! No one uses middle names other than parents x

avroroad · 11/05/2020 19:20

Don't think of ordering the names so much as which name you actually want to use. That is the name that your son will be called every day.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/05/2020 19:36

Andrew sounds a lot more refreshing than Noah.

bakingdemon · 11/05/2020 19:37

Do you like Andy? Because that's what he'll end up being called

DanLenardBennett29 · 11/05/2020 19:49

I'm not keen on Andy.

Noah Bennet was a character in the show Heroes but I guess your baby’s contemporaries won’t know that! It’s a nice name.

ouch321 · 11/05/2020 19:56

That's the name of the cheerleader's dad in Heroes a few years back.

Great show esp season 1 if anyone is looking for things to watch.

daisypond · 11/05/2020 20:06

Andrew is a million times better than Noah. Put that first.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 11/05/2020 20:08

If you're not keen on Andy then you're best of with Noah. You can only say "It's Andrew not Andy for so long, before you either get fed up or he decides he w ants to be known as Andy.

HT96 · 11/05/2020 20:09

@bakingdemon why do people always say that? Children only get nicknames if you allow it to happen.

You can shorten my DD's name but no one has as I always introduce her by her name and tell teachers her name and she also introduces herself as that so no one has ever 'given' her a nickname 🤷🏻‍♀️

daisypond · 11/05/2020 20:10

Drew is nice

HT96 · 11/05/2020 20:11

@Awwlookatmybabyspider not everyone uses Andy anymore a lot use 'Drew'

Viviennemary · 11/05/2020 20:13

Not keen on Noah. Andrew is ok but a bit old fashioned.

LochJessMonster · 11/05/2020 20:15

Noah is better than Andrew
I prefer Noah Andrew Bennett

GinghamStyle · 11/05/2020 20:16

I think it sounds quite a normal, ordinary name 🤷🏼‍♀️

madcatladyforever · 11/05/2020 20:23

I can't bear ancient names from the bible, just awful unless you are fanatically religious or jewish.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 11/05/2020 20:43

My uncle is Andrew known by both Andy and drew, it's up to him when he's older what he prefers. I really like the name noah but would be more refreshing to hear a baby andrew

dementedma · 11/05/2020 20:48

Agree that he doesn't have to be Andy. Just dont accept an abbreviation.DS is Joseph. Not Joe. Joseph. He's 18 now and nobody calls him Joe. Its not his name
Andrew is lovely. There are loads of Noahs.

Mucklowe · 11/05/2020 21:01

Andrew.

Noah is an awful name. Just an amorphous sound.

HopScotchHop · 11/05/2020 21:27

Andrew is lovely and refreshing on a little one. I know an incredible number of Noahs 8 and under. I really don’t think he will automatically get Andy at all. The Andrews I know have never been known as Andy.

Bertucci · 11/05/2020 21:30

I can't see Andrew is due a comeback. It's a bit Colin or Brian to me.

I love Noah - but it's so popular.

daisypond · 11/05/2020 21:32

Andrew is definitely due a comeback - apart from Prince Andrew giving it negative vibes. I already know a baby Andrew. Noah is very dated and tired now.

toastofthetown · 11/05/2020 21:33

Noah is a nice name, and I prefer it to Andrew. If you don't like Andy, I wouldn't go with Andrew. Yes, there are Andrew's who don't like a nickname, but there is no guarantee that you son will be one of them. You can only control his name for few short years, then it's his to do with as he likes.
