My girls called amayah, I’m having a boy in a few weeks, I keep going of my names I have, yes I would like an unusual name but also a name that’s strong, and has a meaning

Taliesin - radiant top of the hill (Welsh)
Tobias - God is good (Hebrew)

As soon as I read the name Amaya, I pictured a T sounding name.

I hope you find one that you like.

@K1mberlylauren I always pronounce It —— Tal ee es in with the first bit Tal sounding strongest.
( it’s hard to write a pronouncement down! )
I’m pleased you like it!

If your son is born before the 21st May, he’ll be a Taurus, which is what the name Taurin means.

Hi I remember your other thread. Didn’t you say you were calling him Tareyan and it all got very heated?

There was some angry language floating around- then you said as a matter of principle you were calling him Tareyan or something just to spite people and then left the thread

K1mberlylauren · 03/05/2020 10:04

Lol seriously ? Who would say that !
I said it was one of my choices!
And by people being son nasty wouldn’t change my mind about a name I like

You keep asking this. Keep getting the same answer. Stop making names up it’s not about you it’s about the poor little mite that’s saddled with it.
John
Peter
David
Mark.
All pretty unusual now. But not attention seeking.

This is the lovely OP who descends into racist slurs if anyone disagrees, hence why her last post was deleted.
Don’t know why MN haven’t banned her yet.

Taliesin is pronounced Tal-YES-in. You can hear it here:
www.bbc.co.uk/wales/livinginwales/sites/howdoisay/names/index.shtml?t

It's better than making up a name, but it is very Welsh so bear in mind that if you use it your son is likely to get asked about Welsh heritage.

insideyourkit · 03/05/2020 11:18

@CaffiSaliMali I’ve been pronouncing it wrong for years and years! Oh well! Live and learn! (When I read Harry Potter I thought Hermione was pronounced Her -me -own and my friend thought it was Her-moyne! )

insideyourkit · 03/05/2020 11:20

@CaffiSaliMali And an alternative meaning to what I’d seen before!

K1mberlylauren · 03/05/2020 11:58

Lol
