Due a baby boy end of may, need some unusual baby names, but not so common..
Me and my husband can’t agree on a name, he wants to wait till the baby’s born but I’d like to pick a name now.
I have a few on my list however he doesn’t agree he thinks we should have a nice traditional name !

Our girl is called amaya
Some of my boy choices are-
Eliyas
Cassius
Trey
Tareyon

How about Christopher with the diminutive Topher.

DeadbeatDescendant · 27/04/2020 12:38

How about a variant of John such as Jowan (Cornish)

K1mberlylauren · 27/04/2020 14:20

Lol yeh I suppose if it’s the middle name we both get what we want then

Cassius is one of my top choices

I would avoid a Junior name. I think children deserve their own name in a family. Christopher would make a nice middle name for a shorter name.

What about:

Asa
Asher
Amos
Saul
Silas
Edmund
Nicholas (Nico)
Raphael
Gabriel
Tristan

Traditional/biblical names but not overly common.

I'm assuming DH agreed to naming your daughter Amaya i.e. it was your idea but he liked it as well? You have to find something you both like.

Thanks Calista

Yeh it’s an Arabic name as she was conceived in Morocco lol.

I actully love Arabic names, Bulgarian/ British her dads Caribbean, hence why I like the unusual names my daughters very exotic looking so I feel I need to give him more exotic name, amayah doesn’t really go with Christopher lol

How about Idris OP? It's a Welsh and Arabic name: www.britishbabynames.com/blog/2014/07/idris.html

As an arabic name it is one of the prophets of Islam. In Wales it is associated with an ancient myth.

It's not a brand new name, people have heard of Mr Elba so will be familiar with how to say and spell it, but there probably won't be 5 in his class either.

K1mberlylauren · 27/04/2020 16:36

Haha love it but I don’t think my husband would agree as I fancy the pants of idris Elba haha

Does anyone like the above names I said or Amari ?

OP posts:
littlejalapeno · 27/04/2020 16:45

Zacharia, Elias, Sami, are Moroccan names without being too obviously religious and work nicely with Amayah

K1mberlylauren · 27/04/2020 17:49

Elias isn’t this pronounced el-liyas? That’s how I would spell it x
Thanks

OP posts:
littlejalapeno · 28/04/2020 20:19

Yes that’s how it’s pronounced x

K1mberlylauren · 28/04/2020 22:34

Aswel as Cassius
