Primrose, Romilly or Matilda

Finding it hard to chose between my top three!

Love Romilly and Matilda but less keen on Milly and Tilly as nicknames. Are there any other shortenings?

I love Primrose. She could be Prim, Rose or Posie. What are you’re thoughts?

Matilda. I dislike the other two.

Thanks everyone! It’s hard as there doesnt seem to be a general consensus 😂

Matilda nn Mattie for me. Not keen on the other options.

Romilly

Romily/Romilly.
Wonder if you saw it in the same book as me @IndiaMay - Miranda Dickinson, It Started With A Kiss.
Although the first time I came across it was the newsreader Romily Weeks.
Matilda is OK.
Primrose is pretty but yes, a bit prim and old ladyish.

Bouncingbelle · 26/04/2020 23:51

Please anything but Primrose! It's just so twee & pretentious. Can you seriously imagine being in your 20s, a cute guy asking you your name and having to say Primrose?!?!
Romily is one of my favourite names, uncommon without being weird, and a name 2hich would suit both adult and child.
I also like Matilda, always strikes me as quite a strong name.

PapercraftNinja · 26/04/2020 23:54

There’s a place in Stockport called Romily so just look it up to make sure you are happy with the connotation! Nothing wrong with it at all just had to say as that’s what sprung to mind.

I love primrose

QueenofDestruction · 26/04/2020 23:55

Love Romilly, like Matilda but such a popular name at the moment. Primrose is nice but my least favourite.

vitajana · 26/04/2020 23:58

Primrose so beautiful

Matilda. Ours is know as Tilda or Tils.

Whatsyourflava · 29/04/2020 09:19

Has it helped narrow it down @rachelrainbow - you’ll never get a consensus on here 🤣
I love Matilda by the way

Chillipeanuts · 29/04/2020 09:19

Romilly

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/04/2020 09:22

Matilda; I just don't like the name Primrose at all (sorry to anyone reading who has that name!), and Romilly just makes me think of Romiley the place.

toughgetsgoing · 29/04/2020 09:24

primrose as a middle name - it's too prim
matilda - overused and I find it clunky and the mat part just isn't attractive? It's an inoffensive name though
Romilly - she might go by Romy which I hate - are you comfortable with a Romi or Romy? Also dislike the sound at the start, and she might go by Millie or Milly if you're trying to have a name that not everyone has (which isn't a bad thing it's a different name)
