It’s based on the number of web hits “nameberry” gets for certain names. Obviously lots of people looking up Luna and Asher but that doesn’t mean lots of people will be using that name.
I suppose with established traditional names like Olivia and Oliver and Harry for example, you probably would be less inclined to go on a website to look up a name like that. Whereas a name like Asher you’d probably be more likely to investigate.
So anyway, yes ignore that article. Zero chance Asher will overtake Oliver to be the number one name - this article isn’t based on any birth registration data- just website clicks
