Names for a second girl...

We already have an Isabel and looking for second girl names.

We always loved Isabel, and while disheartened about its popularity, loved it so much more than any other names we used it anyway. Stuck about a second, though. Our surname is tricky - begins with S and ends with an "uh" sound, think a bit like Salter - so it's hard to find names that flow with it.

Our favourite and frontrunner is Rosa. We love Rose but don't think it works with the surname - Rosa is a question mark too but seems to work a little better? Not so keen on the other "Ros-" names. Rosanna and Rosemary are ok but we don't like them quite as much. Could we get away with Rose or Rosa?

We struggle to agree on any others - here's our combined list in no particular order, some DH loves and some I love (you can probably see two different types of taste here):
Fleur
Charlotte ("Lottie")
Delphine
Poppy
Liora
Lily
Ivy
Daphne
Isla
Iris
Thea
Ada
Jasmine
Eloise
Elodie
April
Niamh

We also had Elsa on our list for DD1 but an Isabel and then an Elsa (the same name, basically) seems a stretch too far!

Thanks in advance.

Much as a I love Rose, I don't think Rose or Rosa sound good with Salter. I really like all these and think they go well with surname and sister's name:
Fleur
Lily
Poppy
Daphne
Liora
I don't think 2 syllable a ending names like Rosa, Thea and Ada work well. Also s ending like Rose, Iris. Jasmine is dated and the only one I quite dislike from your list. Liora works because of the 3 syllables.
Jemima
Phoebe
Tabitha
Dorothea
Margaux
Anthea
Genevieve
Leonora
Philippa
Miriam
Annie
Edith
Elspeth
Lilian

Rose and Rosa are both lovely, they are fine in their own right and don’t need a long version. Although Rosalie is sweet and coupled shorten your either option.

I don’t think Poppy is elegant enough to go with Isabel.

Fleur, Charlotte, Elodie and Eloise are my favourites.

I definitely wouldn’t go for another name beginning with I. I don’t see that there is any way they Isla would be shortened to Izzy and it sounds totally different to Isabel, but it still looks too similar.

I like Rosa but I wouldn’t use it with a surname that ends in an “uh” sound.

What about Rosalie, and you could then call her Rose or Rosa?

Or Rosamund or Rosalind?

Love the name Rosa!!

I have an Eloise, and love the name! Also gives you lots of nn options (El, Els, Ella, Ellie etc)

I love Isabel. I also love all the Rose names - have you considered Rosalie? The 'Lee' sound at the end would break up the repeated S sound with Rose or Rosa and your surname. She could also use Rosa as a pet name at home.

I like your other name suggestions too. Eloise, Elodie and Charlotte stood out. I like Jasmine but it feels a bit dated as someone else said.

Isabel and:
Eleanor (another medieval classic)
Aline
Aveline
Louise
Rosalie
Juliet
Naomi
Sophie
Tamsin
Yasmin
Caroline
