Really struggling with girls names but the only one I keep coming back to is Nola, what are your thoughts?

Don't like it at all

Astronica · 23/04/2020 14:11

I don't like it.

Mummyoftwo91 · 23/04/2020 14:27

What about nova?

Ash06 · 23/04/2020 14:29

Thank you everyone for your opinions. I actually found the name in a magazine, think I like it because I’ve not heard the name used often x

I know a Nolah. Hadn’t heard it before but think it’s quite nice now! A little different but not massively so.

Louisesp82 · 23/04/2020 14:45

I like it!

bridgetreilly · 23/04/2020 15:01

I prefer both Lola and Nuala.

Nola makes me think of New Orleans.

RingaRosie · 23/04/2020 15:04

I say Noh-la, rather than No-la. Would others say it this way, too?

LightACandleHoney · 23/04/2020 15:22

Yep it’s New Orleans to me too. I don’t think I could get past that, but I have lived in the southern United States and still have a lot of friends there. I would say that without connections/regular travel to the US, those connotations wouldn’t be so bas

DramaAlpaca · 23/04/2020 15:39

I like it.

There's two Nolas at my dd's primary school which I find odd as it isn't very popular. Both lovely girls so it has good connotations for me.

Mucklowe · 24/04/2020 11:49

I love it! I have an Aunt Nola who is in her late 60s. She was named after the Irish midwife who delivered her.

LotusClover · 24/04/2020 12:27

It's okay, but for me it's a bit too much like a nickname rather than a full name in itself. I know someone called Shanolla who goes by Nola for short.
