hiya!
My husband and i have a 2yo daughter already called Margot, and are expediting our second in November. Our surname is a pretty wordy double barrelled one beginning with P, so preferably something short. We don’t know the gender (though i have a feeling it’s a boy), and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

some of our current favourites
boys
hugo
arlo
ferris
jasper

girls
lilia
mabel
darrell
flora
fleur

thank you!

Margot and Mabel is way too twee. Sounds like an Instagram business selling canvas coloured fabric with chichi prints.

Toby

Def not Hugo. Or Arlo. Too many o’s.

From your girl’s list I like Flora.

From your lists Jasper and Flora. Lovely!

Definitely not Hugo or Arlo with Margot - too repetitive and don't like Ferris. Fleur and Lilia are okay.

Margot and Arlo are too similar in sound...

Flora is lovely. Not Mabel.
Lilias instead of Lilia. Or Lilian.
Phoebe

Jasper for a boy. Not the others.

My DMum is called Margot. Her brother is called Michael. I think those names match quite well. Michael is classic and of the same era.

Adelais · 18/04/2020 20:41

I like Jasper and Flora. I’d avoid a name ending in the O sound.

LuluJakey1 · 18/04/2020 20:43

Jerry or Tom for a boy

Gerri or Barbara for a girl

I like Flora best from your girls list but think Florence works too.

Hugo and Arlo are names I love but not with a sibling named Margot as there's too much overlap. I'm not a fan of Ferris and Jasper doesn't feel like it fits with Margot, I'm not sure why! How about Tom/Thomas, Felix, Henry, James, Toby or Jude?
