Is Erith too weird?

I think it will be continually misheard as Edith

daisypond · 12/04/2020 14:51

Yes. It’s a town in London/Kent. I really wouldn’t.

Pudding01 · 12/04/2020 19:03

Erin or Edith would be better..

We had a thread about this a few weeks ago. Have you been to Erith, OP? Because it's not really the sort of place people normally name their children after.

The late great Linda Smith used to say that Erith wasn't twinned with anywhere, but it did have a suicide pact with Dartford.

So, that's a no from me.

Derith is a hardly ever used welsh name, if you like it.

Astronica · 12/04/2020 23:54

I don't mind it. I prefer Aerith which is only slightly different in pronunciation.

DramaAlpaca · 12/04/2020 23:57

Not Erith, that's a town. I agree that Aerith is nicer, just a slightly elongated first syllable is the difference.
